And yet keeps landing on the same side of the divide....thats got to be some sort of weird satistical anamoly for an avowed Independent

I'll try to help you understand - a difficult task I know.

There is but ONE party with, and in, power. When critiquing results it makes it pragmatic which party would come under scrutiny. You see, Bush is no longer President; check the results. While there - take a peek at the filibuster-proof majority in both houses of Congress. Amazing huh! The results, programs, and all the actions since January 2009 are their's!

Now if you want to chat about a Republican Governor failing - I'd wager I can cite more about 'The Govevator' than you could. Pick another venue and I'll be happy to do a little research and join in as I see it.

Meanwhile - sorry such an affective majority, having such a mandate coming in has failed so dramatically on all fronts. I'm not going to stop pointing it out. Hopefully it will generate more support for my party and bring home a win next November - the NON-Incumbent party.

Mike its getting close to my edge very quickly, but its not nice to mock the afflicted, so I am trying to stay calm and serene.
Well thats where we disagree....mocking the afflicted is fun.....and dammit to hell they make it so easy to do [:D]
edited to add ...the only afflicted I mock are the ones who are victims of self inflicted foot in mouth disease.

Won't you be in Italy by then?
This probably won't come as a shock to you....but I don't see this administration as having failed on all fronts.....now I know that my opinion is not worth as much as yours.....Your opinion being arrived at thru the application of a steely eyed pragmatism and veiwed through the prism of avowed independence....while mine was reached in large part thru drinking the Kool-aid...but there you have it...a difference of opinion, for what its worth.

Let me know when it gets down to the 20% mark that Bush had in polls in his final months in office.

Then I'll start to worry.

You are talking different time periods within their administrations here......this poll is the first 10 1/2 months in office.....and you wish to compare that with anothers final months in office? Ok, so wait until Obama's final months in office and then bring it back up AT THAT TIME....you bring up Bush's approval rating, ok, his first 10 1/2 months in office rating was 86% at the same stage in his tenure, very big difference for the same first 10 1/2 months in office

I'm not making a comparison.

Just a statement that I will worry when his approval falls to that level, not till then.

But a comparison is just what that was. But i am open.....let's wait and see and compare both at the end of Obama's tenure as well.

The also created jobs at a current estimated proportion of $246,436 per job. (Feel free to post your own link choice of a per job cost.)

He almost got the Olympics for Chicago.

He won the Nobel Peace Prize.

He made sure by implementing his stimulus that all the Financial Industry executives got their bonuses.

He facilitated the Bankruptcy of GM and the orderly closing of the Saturn factory in Tennessee.

Did I miss anything?

Face it, Americans as a whole are looking for instant change, which Obama stated during his campaign, during his acceptance speech, numerous times after that, that the road to recovery would be a long one, and that things would get worse before they got better.

Surprise, surprise, it happened!

I still think it funny that my boss said that with him in office and a Democratic Congress, anything he wanted to fly through ... that lasted for all of two months in office. Point in case, health care was supposed to go through before the August recess at lastest ... last I looked, it's december and his side is still making huge consessions to try to even hope for it to be through by Christmas

Of course, she does think he's well on the road to being the Antichrist though ... (no, I'm not touching that topic)

I know, you were even pointing out the failure before Obama won the election.

Your precognitive abilities never cease to amaze.

Nice attempt to deflect but the topic is the reality of failure not my accurate projection of it.

Having a bit of abilty, and success in business, I don't doubt I projected these results, especially regarding the economy because it was, and is, simple math.

We have two problems here.

The first being that you endorsed the bankruptcy of GM as opposed to their bailout.  I think you mentioned something about "rewarding failure".  Sound familiar?

The second is that I have posted links for you before that showed GM was trying to dump Saturn as far back as 2005, yet you repeatedly ignore that fact and want to attribute it to Obama.

Oh come on people!
Obama's approval rating must be upwards of 95% on Wall Street!!!

For some strange reason the words "Jimmy Carter" are flitting through my head.
THis is horribly unfair to Carter, who was the last president you had who was worth a shit, but there it is.

Quite. He was completely wrong about the oil situation and the towelheads, wasn't he? Far less worthy than Bush or Reagan and their huge deficits.

You’re not alone John, I think we all have honest differences with the president on the issues.

President Obama asks Rep. Conyers Why He is "Demeaning" Him

An interesting story in the Hill. Representative Conyers recently received a call from President Obama:

Conyers, the second-longest-serving member of the House, said, '[Obama] called me and told me that he heard that I was demeaning him and I had to explain to him that it wasn't anything personal, it was an honest difference on the issues. And he said, ‘Well, let's talk about it.''

~FR~

I can understand why the conservatives are crowing so loudly about Obama's falling numbers. The only thing falling faster than his approval rating is the rating of the republicans in congress and the senate. But I suppose that's another thing we shouldn't mention.

Once again, I see a lot of "He's so bad" but not one word about a candidate that can be taken seriously who might be better.

To be fair, we didn't hear any of that from the Democrats under the Bush junta either.

LMAO. The "republicans in the house and senate"? Watch the 2010 elections and see who's disapproval ratings are meaningful.

I don't know if that's true. I know I had the idea that Hillary would be a far better president than Bush. I liked the first Clinton administration and didn't think a second, with Hillary in the big chair would be too much different.

I also am not ashamed to say I came to really like Obama during the campaign. I wont deny a lot of disappointment in him since he became president, but I won't backtrack. I can honestly say that I did not vote for Kerry. I voted against Bush. Likewise, in this past election, I voted for Obama and not against McCain. And despite my numerous differences with the current administration, I still feel I made the same choice.

I do not know if I am going to vote for Obama again in the '12 elections. However, I have yet to hear a candidate mentioned on the opposing side that I would not be very comfortable voting against.
