Hilary wasn't nominated in 2000 or 2004, though.
I actually rather liked Kerry. The sudden u turn the GOP pulled last year about the merits of military service after they found a nominee who wasn't a draft dodger was pretty funny as well. Did they honestly think everybody would have forgotten all those photos of oafs wandering about the Republican convention with purple heart bandages stuck all over their faces?

There was no u turn. Fake war heroes don't count.

When you are trained by Bush & Cheney (before inauguration), act like Bush & Cheney, and continue to drive this nation in the same direction as Bush & Cheney, you should expect popularity and polls just like Bush & Cheney.

Obama's popularity in Norway isn't doing so well these days either.

Norwegians incensed over Barack Obama's snubs

The White House has cancelled many of the events peace prize laureates traditionally submit to, including a dinner with the Norwegian Nobel committee, a press conference, a television interview, appearances at a children's event promoting peace and a music concert, as well as a visit to an exhibition in his honour at the Nobel peace centre. He has also turned down a lunch invitation from the King of Norway.

But hey, thanks for the cool Prize!

Fake war heroes ?Pray tell explain please?

TheHeretic -> RE: Obama Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point (12/9/2009 7:07:25 PM)

Yep.  His approval numbers have been in a steady decline pretty much since the beginning.  "Hope" has meant naive, and "change" is what people have left in their checking accounts.

I'll be expecting him to head for about 42% (+/- 2) after the first of the year, and into the early spring.  The anti-war bundle is going to turn on him over Afghanistan, and when Americans earning a hell of a lot less than $250,000 a year find themselves owing taxes or at least getting a reduced return, that's going straight into his lap.

Slavehandsome -> RE: Obama Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point (12/9/2009 7:10:06 PM)

Maybe now would be a good time for Obama to declare Mission Accomplished in Afghanistan?

servantforuse -> RE: Obama Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point (12/9/2009 7:12:47 PM)

He will just say, mission accomplished in Copenhagen..

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point (12/9/2009 7:22:38 PM)

This is getting more pathetic than a bad episode of twilight zone.

I'd have liked that speech a lot better than the one he gave.

I wonder how the Nobel committee felt when a few months after giving Barack their cherished "peace prize" he was escalating a war.

I just LOVE when someone gives me something so easy to research!!

Other than Nixon, Bush has the lowest approval rating of any President since FDR.

Here is all the bars and graphs for you to enjoy!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_approval_rating

From a high of 90% (for 4 months) to a low of 25%, its a far fall. Im not saying Obama wont do the same, but it should be taken into context of what is happening in the country, instead of nit picking over numbers that really dont mean much in the day to day business of this country.

A good assessment...he was worth exactly a shit, and there hasnt been anyone since then worth only a shit...till now.

Now Willbeurr, as long as we are talking shit, can you define for me the difference between "exactly a shit" and "only a shit"?

I'm getting a little confused, but thank you in advance.

ElectraGlide -> RE: Obama Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point (12/10/2009 12:21:25 AM)

Obama did not inherit a mess, he asked for it. Now I am waiting for him to clean it up. He only seems to make it worse though.

Probably the same way they felt when he said he was going to escalate the war during his campaign.

Did you miss that?

It was in all the papers.  TV too.

Honest!

That's interesting.  How did he ask for it?

Here's a far more detailed analysis of the latest polls and some of their implications:

http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/12/09/the-state-of-the-union-according-to-the-polls/?icid=main|main|dl1|link1|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.politicsdaily.com%2F2009%2F12%2F09%2Fthe-state-of-the-union-according-to-the-polls%2F

It might open the conversation up beyond the "Look how the American people are starting to hate Obama" level.

kittinSol -> RE: Obama Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point (12/10/2009 5:13:16 AM)

In his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech in Copenhagen, he explains the conflict that is evident in coming from a philosophy of peace whilst having to be the leader of the biggest military nation in the world, a nation that is engaged in two wars (two wars he inherited, incidentally). His approval rating may be lower than it has been in the past, but whoever said that being popular meant being right?

Since you raised the issue, Lucylastic, I'll mention the fact that Barack Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, may well be a US born citizen but he damn sure is not a "natural born U.S. citizen" -- at least not according to the definition of "natural born U.S. citizen" upon which four desparate legacy U.S. Supreme Court rulings were based -- and, therefore, damn sure was not eligible to apply for the job of POTUS much less accept the job of and serve as POTUS.  That is, of course, assuming the U.S. Constitution and U.S. Supreme Court mean anything to you.

That's moronic.  He asked for it when he voluntarily applied for the job.  If he wasn't aware of whatever mess existed when he voluntarily applied for or before he accepted the job that simply underscores his lack of qualifications for the job.
