Why are some people so afraid of "Fox News?"
Yet, they believe every word that the "Moonbat Gazette" (The N.Y. Times) publishes? Isn't that called being "closed minded?"
I like to watch news that gives *all* points of view.
Wouldn't you think that "All Moonbat, All the Time" would get awfully boring?

who is a afraid of them? this isnt even an EVIL FOX NEWS!!! thread, its simply about the fact that fox news itself believes its average viewer to be stupid so patronises them. which would be a ratings disaster I'd imagine if not for the fact that its not patronising if you're not that bright.

I'd have loved to have seen that womans face the first time in a production meeting she was going to have to pretend to be a simpleton.

Loki, have you ever watched MSNBC or any of the "network" "news" shows?

I watch a variety of shows. It just depends on what's on and what I feel like watching. Most of my news comes from the 'net, though, with an equally diverse grouping of sites.

I thought Fox news was just an advertising medium for Glenn Becks other avenues of interest.

I wrote this play called the Christmas trousers, available soon!!! Below is an extract...

I watch a variety of shows too including Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and Cnbc the business channel.
I also get a lot from Yahoo. I try to get news from a lot of sources before making up my mind on an issue.
It's funny, whenever I hear someone badmouthing "Fox t.v." or "Faux" as some of them spell it, I assume that they're a Moonbat and sure enough, nine times out of ten they are! It's just a matter of time before they start with the "global warming" crap.

I bad mouth fox news *and* global warming. If the globe were warmer, there wouldn't be a freakin' ice age happening in the midwest right now. And it wouldn't be in the freakin' teens here in Dallas.

Global warming my ass.

I guess we don't need to point out Obama's adoption of black patois when he's addressing a predominantly black audience, do we?

I'd forgotten about that. I guess that means that in addition to George W. Bush, Barack Obama is also very comparable to FOX News...

Commercial TV really is a simple business; what is most important is to attract the highest numbers of viewers possible so that advertisers will be more willing to part with money in greater amounts to advertise on your channel than any other's rival channel. To attract the highest numbers of viewers possible, one must tailor the content presented to the highest number of potential viewers.

Overall, your post was absolutely outstanding.

But I don't agree with this one statement. Sure, Commercial TV may have started out that way, and a number of cable channels still are about viewers and money. Not so much the news channels, though. As money makers, all of them are dead. News reporting has ceased to be a profitable business a long time ago. The only thing news reporting has going for it from a business standpoint is that it is a lot cheaper to produce than live-action shows. But it doesn't draw many viewers. That's even more true for Fox; they've been shedding viewers left and right. Except for extreme right (CNN and MSNBC have also lost some viewers). I don't have their advertiser numbers, but I expect that Fox has far fewer and/or cheaper commercials than the other channels.

So why keep a loser like that? Simple: propaganda. Fox is owned by an Australian(*) billionaire with plenty of income from other business venues, and with a very explicit agenda - not just in the USA, by the way, but world wide. He has used his media empire for political goals since the early 1970s in Australia. He has very close ties to Margaret Thatcher, George Bush and Kevin Rudd and other extremist politicians.

I don't think he cares if Fox News makes money or loses money, and I don't even think he cares if he loses the majority of his viewers, as long as he can spread his message into the minds of the 10% of hardcore TV viewers who still are watching Fox.

(*) He did become a naturalized US citizen in order to evade US rules on TV station ownership.

Fact check (ie again you dont know wtf youre talking about)

January 2009:

P2+ Prime Time
FNC – 2,562,000 viewers
CNN—967,000 viewers
MSNBC –1,283,000 viewers
CNBC – 246,000 viewers
HLN – 900,000 viewers

December 2009:

FNC – 2,382,000 viewers
CNN – 623,000 viewers
MSNBC –693,000 viewers
CNBC – a scratch w/123,000 viewers
HLN –734,000 viewers

Now who exactly is losing viewers en masse? Do I need to do the math for you?

Then you better change your expectations:

It's the difference between news and tabloid journalism, which Fox has taken to new lows.

I'm pretty sure you know exactly who she is, and the reason we should care is we have a vast audience of Fox News viewers who are now convinced that an unbiased poll adds up to 120%.

Really?....You think you are the only one that picked up on that? A bit grandiose of you to think you are the only one who can discern bullshit from reality.

Not grandiose at all.

And since it was clearly stated by Stewart in the video it wasn't hard to pick up.

I was just curious how many Fox devotees started to wonder about "fair and balanced" when the network's journalistic standards are so low they would air a poll with math errors that a third-grader would "pick up on".
