Brain -> You Republicans are not the "real Americans." You are members of a lie-based evangelical paranoid cu (12/18/2009 7:10:40 PM)

I think the Republican party has been taken over by loons. Republicans are cutting off their nose to spite their face; playing politics with the healthcare issue. I like what this guy has to say about Republicans and he tells it like it is.

The BRAD BLOG Dear Republicans Why Do You Hate America

You are in bed with religious flakes from C-Street ("The Family") to the whole evangelical, amorally bankrupt, and hate-driven anti-gay movement and its whole cast of "characters". You are the people who like torture to be legal but not health care that's affordable. So to stall action in the Senate you brought in a bunch of right wing flake preachers who'd pray for defeat of health care for the poor!

Well, it's time to call it truthfully: the Republican Party is the enemy of America. You aren't just another party; you are an insurrection against law, living and love. You trade in hate and fear and religious mumbo-jumbo. You trade in "death panel" lies. You do all this instead of the job you were elected to do, which is govern.

You are doing to our whole country what Bush did to New Orleans after Katrina: looking the other way and playing politics while the rest of us go down.

You Republicans are the ones who --- to use your very own Sarah Palin's words --- are not the "real Americans." You are members of a lie-based evangelical paranoid cult.

Good for me that I never watched this guys TV show whatever it was about.

Chuck Norris: Public health care would have killed Jesus

Either of you guys related to Rush Limbaugh?

Brain, your posts tend to infuriate me.

I actually have to interact with people.  Some are Republican, some are Democrat, some are Independent.  They are all races, all national origins.  I don't agree with all of them, and they don't all agree with me, but we all get along.

Your incoherent article states that every single Republican has bought into every single failing of the current GOP, that every single Republican buys into it 100%.  No statistics are given, which is no surprise because any actual data would have shown otherwise.

Why do post drivel like that?  My politics is not that different from yours, but I reject your sources and ridiculous premises.

To be fair ... I was curious about this so I went and looked...

"Lastly, as we near the eve of another Christmas, I wonder: What would have happened if Mother Mary had been covered by Obamacare? What if that young, poor and uninsured teenage woman had been provided the federal funds (via Obamacare) and facilities (via Planned Parenthood, etc.) to avoid the ridicule, ostracizing, persecution and possible stoning because of her out-of-wedlock pregnancy? Imagine all the great souls who could have been erased from history and the influence of mankind if their parents had been as progressive as Washington's wise men and women! Will Obamacare morph into Herodcare for the unborn?"

Chuck Norris actually did say that.

Dear Brain,

Kiss my ass.

That is all.

I'm not trying to infuriate anyone but I have to say I am distressed, or disturbed, or dismayed, or it troubles me greatly when I see these people praying as they do and believing that they’re making a difference with their behavior. Quite frankly, I think they are scary because if they really believe this stuff and they get control of the government again, I think we are in for dangerous times.

Sorry if you don't like it, but I think the nuts need to be confronted and exposed because when they get control of government it's dangerous; it results in wars and a lot of people die. Hopefully Obama can wind down these two wars and end them, and hopefully these scary delusional people will never get control of government again, ever. I sincerely hope the Republican Party becomes extinct. We don't need any John Birch Society crazies in office in the future. I learned tonight the John Birch Society is sponsoring
CPAC

You're trying to imply that I think every single Republican is like this and I don't think that and did not say that; I think you're doing it to diminish the point I'm trying to make, which is that these people in the Republican Party are scary and frightening to me. They don't deserve any influence in the Republican Party if it happens to take control of the White House once again or take control of Congress because they are crazy.

What concerns me is that I think these people represent more than 50% of the Republican Party now. And for me that's scary.

Marco Rubio Key-Noted CPAC Now Co-Sponsored by John Birch Society

The John Birch Society is co-sponsering this years Conservative Political Action Conference. Don't remember them? They're the conspiracy-happy, paranoid anti-communist group that emerged in the late '50s, and then preceded to circulate a letter calling Republican President Dwight Eisenhower, of all people, "a dedicated agent of the Communist Conspiracy," had a president that once maybe said, "militant Jews have influenced the Freemasons, who are 'Satan's agents,' 'the enemies of Christ Church," and opposed the civil rights movement.

An example of Birch paranoia.

Okay, let me try again.

Bernie Madoff is Jewish.  He most certainly does not represent all Jews, and the rest of us are pretty sorry that he considers himself one of us.

There are some complete delusional nutcases within the Democratic party.  They do not define it.

The right wingers do not define the GOP either. The GOP holds some tenets with which I disagree, but so does the Democratic party.

I agree with you that they are driving the GOP right now, but eventually the GOP will come to its senses and realize that they need to select a moderate if they ever want to gain the Presidency again..

Brain -> RE: You Republicans are not the "real Americans." You are members of a lie-based evangelical paranoid cu (12/18/2009 9:38:43 PM)

They can select a moderate and indeed they did when they selected John McCain but for me that’s not good enough anymore because if the Republican Party once again wins the presidency these right-wing extremists are going to make the same demands they did on George Bush and I expect I whoever it is to comply and to be just as successful as George; and that’s not very much.

DarkSteven -> RE: You Republicans are not the "real Americans." You are members of a lie-based evangelical paranoid cu (12/18/2009 9:48:36 PM)

That's an interesting point.  How much does a sitting President shape his own agenda, and how much is formed by pressure on him?  And which groups does he listen to - them that brung him (his natural constituency), or the entire of the citizenry?

Reagan made his own policy, and then went directly to the people to sell it.  Clinton OTOH was careful to listen to polls for his policies.  Bush rammed his policies through, without really caring what the people thought as long as he had the votes.

Obama thus far has surprisingly varied relatively little from Bush's policies.  He has continued the wars and the bailout policies.  I suspect that his entire Presidency will be closely attuned to what polls and advisors tell him.

I don't think that we'll see another Bush again.  He listened less to the people than any President I can think of.  I don't think he was swayed by the evangelicals as much as he was one of them entering the Presidency and never really listened to others.  It's rare to get someone as President with so little regard for polls.

Other than working for a manufacturing company in the office and as a labor worker on the floor, working for a public accounting and a law firm, working for some politicians, and the government in the tax department getting an accounting license and an economics degree I haven’t done much.

Yes, its called "leadership", and it is indeed a rare quality in DC. What is somewhat surprising is that GWB's leadership style (Im not referring to his policies) was very military in its nature, but he has been so maligned as a "draft dodger". I am hopeful that we will indeed see "another Bush" at least in that regard....a conservative GWB!

With Obama it is his advisors, because he certainly isnt listening to the polls on health care and cap and trade. He is so obviously a product of his radical/socialist/liberal background, and so beholden to the Chicago political machine. His hair is turning gray because even he can't live up to the demands of the Soros/moveon crowd in good conscience. If he had some real experience to back him up he could actually have grown into a leader in time, but you can't put a high school champion on an NFL team and expect him to get them to the playoffs his first year, and that is how green he is. So instead his strings are pulled in different directions when he tries to execute policies that will make him more than a one term wonder.

Not an excuse for not thinking clearly.

In fact, it should mean that you put more thought into what you post, and they should be masterpieces of clarity and pithiness.

Sort of like you exhibit masterpieces of empathy?

You know we have disagreed on many things but I always thought you had some integrity.

To have someone confess a disability and then you attack it as "no excuse" is utterly inexcusable.

This from someone who uses self created alternate IDs to support his own ludicrous positions. You would have thought that revelation would have embarassed you into shutting the fuck up for oh about 50 years, Wilbur.

Why don't you come back in a few posts time as someone else and express indignation on behalf of yourself.

Well then what excuse for unreasoned diatribe, hyperbole and imbicility do the neo-cons offer as a standard?
