Gauge -> Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/17/2006 10:13:23 PM)

I saw something in another thread that got me thinking about the worst movies I have ever seen. Then I got curious what other celluloid blunders others have watched. I will kick this off with my best two:

The dumbest idea for a movie that I have ever seen was a classic film called Ankle Biters. It was about dwarf vampires that were trying to find a sword that would help them create a tall vampire.

The other was Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood... yeah, the one that won Best Picture. That movie was absolute torture to watch. Maybe I missed the point, but I don't think so.

Oh gosh...there have been so many, it's hard to remember them all...but some of the worse were remakes of classics...for example; Invasion of the Body Snatchers, War of the Worlds, Psycho, The Parent Trap, The Three Musketeers, etc

Some that were not remakes; The Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp, Unforgiven ( yes, I found that to be the worse Eastwood western that I had ever seen ), Boogeyman, WaterWorld with Kevin Costner, The Gladiator with Russel Crowe ( yes, I thought it was horrible ), Titanic...just to name a few [:)]

Hercules in New York is undoubtably the worse movie I've ever see, however it was SO bad that it is worth watching because it is so funny and only funny because it takes itself SO seriously yet is THAT bad!

The worst recent Movie I've had the misfortune to watch was Oliver Stones Alexander. Which was simply so bad that it was truely dismal!

Worst and my friends would disagree

Natural Born Killers

Personally I loved Water World <Reminded me of Herbert's Jesus Incident series>

Three Musketeers... hell I got a nickname from that lol Arimus had a few call me that

And the Ninth Gate ROCKED I meen wow very well made and a good backstory... Maby I am too into the occult at times.

1wildwolf -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 3:21:32 AM)

the core would have to be one of the worst movies ive seen, for the fact that the science in it is...dubious at best

Dumb and Dumber

Pulp Fiction
I tried watching it 3 times, because everyone raved about it and we were always playing the soundtrack at work. But I just could not sit through it.

MHOO314 -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 5:06:28 AM)

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and Once Upon a Time in Mexico with Banderas and Depp.

FullCircle -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 6:57:32 AM)

'My Blue Heaven' having seen this film I still have no idea what it is about. Worst of all god didn't even have a part in it.

Evanesce -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 7:03:21 AM)

They Live, starring Roddy Piper; and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. That was the worst book adaptation I've seen to date.

cloudboy -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 7:06:43 AM)

I would say that somehow it was a crime against humanity that Tom Cruise somehow got ahold of the old series Mission Impossible, turning it from a team oriented, non violent, sophisticated grifter-spy show into a mindless, action, explosions-veryone vanity fest.

On the other hand, I thought V for Vendetta was excellent --- brilliant, entertaining, and thematic to today's landscape. Two Thumbs up and four stars. (It must also be noted that I just have a serious thing for Natalie Portman who has supplanted Winona Ryder as my new favorite actress. So, my objectivity might be a little compromised --- but I'm already to give Portman a Best Actress Award nomination for her role in this film. I thought she also deserved a nomination for Garden State as well.)

Ok, admission here...I watched Ninth gate 6 times because I was told that it rocked. Watched it 6 times and I still DON'T UNDERSTAND it one bit. I understand the concept behind it, but the movie itself made no sense at all. So, in that respect, I classify it as a worse [&:]

edited to add: I thought Pulp Fiction was terrific lol.

There's an old 60's 70's B Movie that I watched one time. It's about a worshiper of Egyption Lore who wants to perform an ancient ritual that was done since " Five Thousand Years Ago" I think one of these links is one of them. The title begins with
Blood. I can't remember the second word.

Anyhow, Thank God for MST3000 or alot of those movies would still suck today.

That's funny, because I loved the Gladiator, everything about it, Russell, the costuming, especially the music.

smilezz -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 8:18:24 AM)

The crying game
The blair witch project(s)

There are many bad movies out there, but for me, these are the two worst movies that anyone could waste their time on.

ack!

I loved MST3K! Is it still on anywhere? (It's not "Pyewma Man, it's Poo-ma man!")[:D]

My all-time worst is Swamp Thing.

Unfortunatly it's been discontinued for a few years now. Comedy Central nor Sci Fi do not show any of the episods as of right now but may change. As far as my Comcast Digital Network goes here in TX, I have no listings for it. Any how, if all else fails, you can buy the seasons and the movie. You can also rent them at hastings.

JazzDaddy -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 12:00:30 PM)

I would have to go with Wired, a movie about the life of John Belushi, as the worst movie I have ever seen.

Funny fact, though, Michael Chiklis from tv's The Shield and the pretty bad Fantastic Four movie, plays John Belushi.

One of the few movies I have ever gotten up and walked out on in the theatre, and I have sat through a lot of bad ones!

subtoFemDommes -> RE: Worst Movie You Have Seen (3/18/2006 12:25:54 PM)

"Lost in Translation" - particularly galling because I love Bill Murray. If he wasn't in it and Coppala's daughter hadn't written and directed it, would anyone have bothered to be tortured by this inane bomb?

Talk about using the alienating (modern Tokyo) to frame the banal; this movie is to the genre of the melancholy romance what a Louis Vuitton bag run over by a garbage truck in a muddy alley, is to Impressionism.

(And if it can win an Oscar for "Best Screenplay" I should get a Pulitzer for that analogy...)
