Status: offline 		I concur with Panda - the miserable couple of times I happened to come across Fox early in the morning (for reasons that were beyond my control) were followed by individual posters discussing the very same talking points - the synchronicity was admirable. Their miserable minds are obviously tuned-in to Fox so that they are ready to rebroadcast and discuss everything that made their neo-con penises twitch  .

Status: offline 		I am optimistic we will figure it out. This sounds too much like a Bruce Willis/Brad Pitt sci-fi movie. We could always go live on the moon or Mars; they found lots of water on the moon was so living there is not a problem.

At 6.8 billion, you don't think we've already exceeded the system's carrying capacity? I certainly do. But sooner or later, the wave will crest and fall back, and the population will have to be reduced somehow. C'est la vie.



Yeah, I don't think that there's any question that Earth is overpopulated already.  Earth will take care of itself though.  Just look at the boatload of massive natural disasters that are piling up as being overdue.  Yellowstone national park is something like 15,000 years past due for an eruption.  Yes apparently the entire park is the crater for a super volcano.  Or the island (I can't remember off the top of my head the names of the islands off the west coast of Europe) that is one good sized earthquake away from sending the entire western side into the Atlantic sending a Tsunami into North America that will kill untold numbers.  Or the New Madrid fault that is apparently WAY overdue for a massive quake.  And that's just a few off the top of my head.  Makes me wonder if Earth isn't cocking the hammer in preparation to defend itself.

Personally, I'm all for pushing space exploration hard instead of population control.  There's no reason to put off colonizing Mars.
