actually, with "Enterprise" coming onto the scene, that makes Jonathan Archer the very first Captain of the Enterprise.

Actually it doesn't matter what is going on now... the first show that aired Star Trek... Jeffery Hunter as the very first Captain of the Enterprise.

mnottertail -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (3/19/2006 4:28:18 PM)

So can I ask kinda a personal question here, to the group? Don't you think the first couple seasons of the new star trek thingy that the cut of Counsellor Troy's blouse enhanced the unevenness of her tits? Or am I not understanding the relative connundrum here?

Curiously,
Ron

not sure about that one but i always chuckle when i see the episode where they must have messed up the laundry and shrunk her uniform a bit. several times in that episode and i forgot which one it is, you can clearly see the outline and definition of her little kitty! LOL

slaveHIS -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (3/20/2006 1:15:15 PM)

By far, my choice is Captain Jean Luc Picard.... who is James Thaddeus Kirk? (sarcastically said and meant).

I have no idea. The William Shatner character was James Tiberius Kirk.

slaveHIS kneels humbly before you, Sir, as you are most correct. :) she knew it was T...something or the other.

Actually, for students of the Roman Empire, Kirk's middle name is a valuable clue to some of his behaviors. Consider it a cautionary tale for parents when naming their kids.

Smythe -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (3/21/2006 3:41:36 AM)

I just looked back on this thread after 2 days or so and I was shocked and amazed that it's now on its 3rd page.

I don't think it is fair, in the comparizon of Enterprise captains, to include all the people who had command for one episode or part of an episode. Anyone can keep the ship going in a straight line for an hour or so, but it takes a superior individual to make snap decisions, know when to flaunt rules, command respect and yet have empathy and lead with creativity.

It takes a Domme :)

Anyway, with the new criteria, you have to include the time on Voyager when the ship went through dark space or something, and they put themselves all to sleep and let 7 0f 9 run the ship.

To be honest I will always vote for 7 in any contest in which she runs.

Who do you think was the best star ship Enterprise captian... James T. Kirk or Jean-Luc Picard?

Picard...hands down.  Primarily because he could act.  My only issue with Picard was that he could never woo a green woman out of her drawers like Kirk could.

RavenMuse -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (3/21/2006 12:53:45 PM)

Picard. Without a doubt, Picard had a quiet Dominence that inspires a team to follow him, Kirk was mearly a blowhard... entertaining yes, but a Captain, nope.

Kirk was however MILES prefrable to Janeway who couldn't inspire her way out of a paper bag!

MistressBliss -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (3/21/2006 2:21:39 PM)

Oh give me Kirk anytime!  He was the original space cowboy - loving the ladies and killing the bad guys. I don't care if Shatner did wear a hairpiece and a girdle - when he was Kirk he transended foundation garments and toupes and was THE CAPTAIN ...

(oh dear I thinkI'm getting the vapors...)

pinkkeith -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (12/7/2006 12:14:36 PM)

Oh, the age old question. I still go with Captain Picard.

aviinterra -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (12/7/2006 12:22:35 PM)

Jean-Luc Picard!!! A man that good with words does not need brute force.

twistedwillow -> RE: Who was the best Star ship Enterprise Captian? (12/7/2006 1:46:07 PM)

When i was a kid i had the hugest crush on kirk, he was ( one of ) the one i wanted to give my virginity too.

However that was before i met Picard, that man just oozes  charm, sophistication, intelligence, strength, dignity and honour.

Having since seen Patrick Stewart in several other roles, it's him as the man, rather than the character that im attracted too, although always, to my mind, its his incarnation at Jean- Luc Picard, that allows all those yummy things to flourish.  ( having never seen him in Shakespear that is )

But for pure unadulterated male testosterone fuelled sexiness you cant go past Wharf, ohhh that Klingon just melts my wet spots.

They were pretty good, but I believe Hans Solo had more 'guava in his juice'.

(or was that "Guano in his jars?)
