Who are you trying to convince?

In other words you hate him because he doesn't hate like you do.

Im glad you decided to take the higher, moral road. I choose not too in this instance. The amount of lies, propoganda, belittlement and downright hatred that man has preached over the airwaves makes me have "less" compassion than normal.

I dont hate... i dont like liars, cheats, scam artists... all these things that are Rush. pretty much sums that up

tazzygirl -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/30/2009 10:09:24 PM)

Absolutely no one, sanity. i dont need to convince anyone of the truth.

OCdragon -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/30/2009 10:10:54 PM)

Just one???

OCdragon -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/30/2009 10:11:56 PM)

You really do have NOTHING of substance. How sad...

OCdragon -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/30/2009 10:16:43 PM)

That's because you have no idea what the truth is!!

Maybe this is not the thread for this discussion...after all the man could be in real danger of death. You are fairly new and don't know how many times he has been caught in exaggerations and bending of the truth. He has also reported honestly at times...but he does have problems as a truly respected journalist.

What you need to do is run a search and read through a few of the threads on him... this is not the time or place for this type of argument. You are not informed enough

Whew, just got back from the Cabana.

We were shooting a remake of Moby Dick.

I left right after my small yet tasteful dialogue,

"There she blows!--there she blows!

Oh yeah, I may not be black,

but I give great towel.

call me ishmael* (the pet)

OCdragon -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/30/2009 10:39:51 PM)

Perhaps you need to be more informed of him... Unless you are just a mindless socialist you most likely would have actually listened to one, or more, of his broadcasts so you would really know about what he is talking about... Maybe that is just asking too much???

tazzygirl -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/30/2009 10:42:51 PM)

Ah, you want more.

Lies.... Traveling with a bottle of viagra.. not his prescription. Dr shopping for narcotics.

Slamming drug abusers while he was one himself.

Rush Limbaugh, the darlin' of right-wing radio and the "lock 'em up and throw away the key" crowd, once said, in response to the criticism that we prosecute a disproportionate number of African-Americans on drug crimes, that we should "find" and send "up the river" white drug users, too. Now, since allegations have surfaced that he illegally procured a substantial supply of the painkiller OxyContin, he appears to have changed his tune. "Treatment" has suddenly entered his vocabulary and he has taken a leave from his popular radio show to attend detox

Limbaugh and Hastert baselessly suggested that Democrats orchestrated Foley scandalOctober 04, 2006 5:29 pm ETSUMMARY: Rush Limbaugh and House Speaker Dennis Hastert advanced a theory that Democrats and the media instigated the scandal surrounding former Rep. Mark Foley to aid the Democrats in the midterm elections, ignoring ABC News reporter Brian Ross's statement that the sources for his reporting on Foley are, if at all politically affiliated, Republicans.

Michael J. FoxMichael J. Fox appeared in a new political ad on stem cell research which "debuted prominently Saturday night [October 21, 2006,] during Game 1 of the World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Detroit Tigers, and became the "subject of widespread discussion" "after conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh claimed Fox was 'either off his medication or acting'," the Associated Press/CBS News and other media outlets reported. "A victim of Parkinson's disease, Fox speaks out in the ad for Missouri Democratic Senate candidate Claire McCaskill, who supports embryonic stem cell research." Limbaugh said on his syndicated show that "I think this is exploitative in a way that's unbecoming of either Claire McCaskill or Michael J. Fox" and, appearing to "back away from his accusation", Limbaugh added "All I'm saying is I've never seen him the way he appears in this commercial for Claire McCaskill ... So I will bigly, hugely admit that I was wrong, and I will apologize to Michael J. Fox, if I am wrong in characterizing his behavior on this commercial as an act, especially since people are telling me they have seen him this way on other interviews and in other television appearances." "Fox responded to Limbaugh in an interview with CBS, saying: 'He used the word victim and on another occasion used the word pitiable. Understand that nobody in this position wants pity," Reuters' Deborah Charles reported October 27, 20

Donovan McNabb On September 28, 2003, shortly after Limbaugh became a commentator on ESPN's Countdown, he made the following comment: I think the sum total of what you're all saying is, Donovan McNabb is regressing, he's going backwards. And my, I'm sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well, for instance, black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there is a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he really didn't deserve.... The defense carried this team, I think, and he got credit for it.[1] On October 2, after heavy criticism, he stepped down as an ESPN commentator, saying: What happened was that some of my cast members began to be made to feel uncomfortable by the press and others who couldn't believe that they had not responded to what I said so the path of least resistance became for me to resign. [2]

For now, thats enough. Now, answer my question.

Louve00 -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/31/2009 4:33:57 AM)

Well...all I can think of is the time Rush proudly announced on his radio show that he wished Obama would fail....then fastforward to that Awards dinner, when Wanda Sykes got up and did her comedy skit.  She mentioned Rush.  Something to the tune of "He wants this country to fail...well I want his kidneys to fail".  Somewhere in the back of my mind I can only say...it wasn't his kidneys, Wanda...it was his heart. LOL.  Guess we could say good ole Rush's bad luck wishing backfired on him

SilverMark -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (12/31/2009 4:44:52 AM)

makes ya wonder

If you were really a sweetie, you would dig up the news story of him getting busted at the airport with Viagra pills in his suitcase, coming back from I think the Dominican Republic....

I didn't just pull that theory outta my ass....but on that note.....

as you desire Master ~winks

which version do you prefer?

Rush Limbaugh's Dominican Stag Party
29 Viagra pills, two "24" producers among radio star's all-male crew

Rush Limbaugh was traveling with four other men--including the producers of the hit show "24"--when he was detained over a mislabeled bottle of Viagra found in his luggage during a Customs search. A Department of Homeland security passenger manifest shows that Limbaugh and his four buddies flew from the Dominican Republic on a Gulfstream IV jet owned by Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates his radio program. Limbaugh returned to Palm Beach, Florida on June 26 with Joel Surnow, "24"'s co-creator and executive producer and Howard Gordon, another of the Fox hit's executive producers

As Melissa noted earlier in PEEK, from a CBS story: "Rush Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at Palm Beach International Airport after authorities said they found a bottle of Viagra in his possession without a prescription."

He was reportedly returning from the Dominican Republic at the time which, as Terrance Heath notes, leaves a big, gaping hole in the story.

What was Rush doing in the Dominican Republic? Why was he returning from a country known for its thriving sex trade, with a bottle of Viagra that didn’t have his name on it?
From a 2001 Wired.com article:
the Dominican Republic is one of the biggest sex tourism destinations in the world, thanks in part to Internet sites that extol the country as a "single man's paradise."

Rush Limbaugh Under New Investigation

By BRIAN SKOLOFF
The Associated Press
Tuesday, June 27, 2006; 11:30 AM

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name.

Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at the airport after returning from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Customs officials found the Viagra in his luggage but his name was not on the prescription, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Miller said the alleged violation could be a second-degree misdemeanor. The sheriff's office was investigating and will soon turn the case over to the state attorney's office, which had no immediate comment Tuesday.

Under the deal reached last month with prosecutors, Limbaugh was not to be arrested for any infraction for 18 months in exchange for authorities deferring a charge of "doctor shopping." Prosecutors had alleged the conservative talk-show host illegally deceived multiple physicians to receive overlapping painkiller prescriptions.

OMFG...I did not know he was busted for viagra. I mean, damn, what kind of fucking pervert would use something like that. Now I understand why your all getting so excited at the prospect of his death. Please carry on. I am sure kittin has some really good republican dying jokes and don't forget to mention the size of his coffin. I know he has lost a lot of weight, but you all seem to really enjoy fat jokes and I would not want facts getting in the way of your good time.

Before his own problems became public, Limbaugh had decried drug use and abuse and mocked President Clinton for saying he had not inhaled when he tried marijuana. He often made the case that drug crimes deserve punishment.

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. ... And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up," Limbaugh said on his short-lived television show on Oct. 5, 1995.

Rush is a hypocrit and he was exposed. Its illegal to possess prescriptions that are not in your name. Does not matter who prescribed them. not to mention he was going against court orders when they were found.

I agree.  The facts that he is obese, uses drugs illegally, and has a troubled personal life (three divorces and a recent arrest) are entirely nonfactors.
