what i don't understand is how males who call themselves dominant can act this way to somebody they do not know.

don't they realize females are reading this and judging them on their words

a little more politeness goes a long way in projecting a desirable appearance

what kind of submissive female do they think wants a male that acts like that, one wonders

You are quick! That is so true.

Well, I haven't seen this one on here yet. Taking a male sub out of a CB3000 when he'd locked himself in it for three years. That was a BIG mistake.

I can't say that there are any mistakes that I have made. I am still in the relationship I entered after discovering BDSM. We just celebrated our third New Years with the three of us living together (I moved in two years ago just before Christmas) and we have been in a relationship almost five years. There isn't anything that I wish we would have done different.

The mistake would have been thinking Northern Canada was too far away for a South Florida girl.

I must say this is one of the strangest split-personality threads I have seen on these boards recently...really two threads intertwined and yet disjointed. In one, people trying to answer the OP's question and make informative contributions, and in the other the OP flailing widely about arms and legs kicking out in one direction or the other defending himself for some imagined attacks. Freakin weird, man! Freakin weird. As someone said, the OP highjacked his own thread.

LoL, while I did not read this thread...you just made me giggle with your statement, as it seems to me that you probably missed out on the other split personality thread which was around in a different section until recently

what were the relationship mistakes you made after you found out about bdsm

mine was my first submissive , being new and not confident i screwed it up by not being forceful enough

I'm sure I made a lot but my first master was pretty special: I think he shielded me from them. So I don't know.

I made my big mistakes later, well into that relationship: I took it and him (and my happiness within it) for granted and assumed it would/could never end.

a submissive that feels in place, i don't think taking it for granted is such a bad thing, it's a sign of comfort and he is doing his job , relationship wise

and the future that we can't control is out of our hands, so worrying about it unnecessarily can be counter productive

i really see nothing wrong here

I disagree. On a forum, everyone is judged by the words they post, because that's all everyone else has to go on.
Gender and orientation have nothing to do with it.

if  a lil more leeway, you mean allowed enough rope to hang themselves...I can see that.  Wait, nope.  Still isn't gender or orientation specific.

I can take leeway without being given the occasion to do so, that's MY orientation.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not..We either have done that, will do or are doing that. The trick is to catch yourself in the act and fix it. I've been guilty of it myself to the relationships detriment. We live and we learn, right?

Really? what is your experience with message boards? are there some magical ones that let viewers of posts have deeper insight into posters above and beyond their posts?
