Status: offline 		sooo, i was thinking about humiliation and degredation and when i first started forming my personal definitions of the two and i went looking through my old posts...now my opinions have changed since this thread but there was a concept of "debasement" that was introduced there that i wanted to get some more feelings/thoughts/opinions on, perhaps even from the original poster of the concept  and so you don't have to go back and read the thread i will paste the introduction/definition of it now....

Status: offline 		I traditionally pass on threads about humilation and debasement simply because I don't believe in it. But maybe that's worth a post anyway....

If I've got the girl all naked, bound and kneeling doing a bit of forced oral service (for eg), I'm NOT doing it to debase or humilate her. My motivation is about asserting control and ownership rights etc and, frankly, I'd be quite alarmed about where her own headspace is if *she* felt humiliated or debased. Such a situation would require a complete halt and much discussion, including where our entire relationship is....

That said, if some nosey nilla happened to be peeking through a window at the time, I can see how they might find our... errr...., Power Exchange might be of humiliation and debasement of the girl.

But the opinions of the ignorant and uninitiated ain't worth a cracker and certainly not worth modelling *MY* relationships or personal business on.

i've often said it's hard for me to be debased or humiliated for the same reasons.  The judgment of the actions i'm being ordered to perform are in his mind, not mine.  If i'm not judging my actions, they're not humiliating - and they're often quite fun instead.

A sub/slave could be put into a physical position of debasement, i.e. ignored, locked in the basement (sideways glance at EbonyWood) or a closet, kept soiled, fed low quality or pet food, etc. etc. etc. - but i view that as more situational than mental.

It is in the dictionary. Anything that is in the dictionary, and the thesaurus, and Microsoft Word, does not need conceptualization or opinions..

slavery, submission, dominance, humiliation, bondage...just to name a few off the tip of my tongue...that is words we discuss all the time that are in the dictionary, et al....

edited to add: perhaps i wasn't clear in my original post, but i was hoping for thoughts/feelings/opinions of implimenting debasement...

I told a prospective sub tonight online that I would have to find out for myself whether he could achieve psychological and emotional nudity without necessarily being physically nude. For some people the states go together; to be emotionally intimate brings up sexual feelings, and to be sexual equals emotional intimacy. To be naked in the presence of a clothed other is to be lessened, subjected. If I feed you by hand, is it an act of intimacy or an act of debasement? Everyone has things that make them feel less than equal. The trick is in pushing those particular buttons if there is a desire for debasement, and in not pushing them if humiliation/debasement is to be avoided.

i went several time under humiliation
debasement  happened very few times but circonstances were totally different  and  never lasted long cuz i alway beleived deep inside that i am a diamond...no matters what have been done to me,,
it is just that sometime ,,, i have to remove some layers

Status: offline 		I was often debased by my ex.  It had nothing to do with names or oral service.  There were some damn awful experiences that I hope to never undergo again.  None-the-less, they happened, they fucked with my head and self worth, and I recovered.  Debasement may be "hot" at the time, or even feel right at the time, but one runs a very real risk of some lasting negative effects.
