ORIGINAL: popeye1250 Logic would dictate that they will try new targets. I was just tossing this out for a few ideas. Ah,.....do you have any? Why yes! In 1987, terrorists attacked Rome Airport. About half a dozen men walked into the ariport wielding automatic rifles, and sprayed bullets indiscriminantly around, killing a few people. They created a wave of fear and terror across Europe, and when I visited later that year, every airport and train station was heavily guarded by armed soldiers. By any standards, it was a pretty successful attack- it did exactly what it meant to do, cause fear and apprehension and confusion on an entire continent. Using nothing more sophisticated than rifles. So a good argument could be made that in this new war on terror, the old concerns about Constitutional rights is "quaint" and that the Constitution is "not a suicide pact." Perhaps the Dept of Homeland Security and the FBI should register all firearms in America to prevent such an attack here, limiting 2nd Amendment rights to the highly regulated, highly restricted posession of single shot rifles and revolvers. Maybe even confiscate weapons from those who did not fit very selective criteria. All to keep us safe, of course. Oh, I know, hard core liberals will wail about the "Constitution" and alledged "rights' but these are the same people who complained about the Patriot Act and warrentless wiretapping.
