Being stupid happens ... and I've found I learn best when it happens to me and I deal with the consequences.  Something about being smacked over the head by my own mistake makes me eager to not be a repeat offender.

I never understood mentors.  I figured that if I was smart enough to choose someone to mentor me, I was smart enough to choose someone to be in a relationship with .. without having to run that by my mentor.  So I skipped the middle man and thought for myself.

...I don't know what your "mentoring" consists of.  If it's the proper use of safewords and how to contact the local community, that's one thing.  But if it's the proper way to suck cock and do a striptease, that's something else altogether.

Does this mean I have to cancel the "Blow Jobs & Stripping For Beginners" seminar I was preparing!? I had such hopes!

I learned a lot here but had to sift through the garbage. It's not always easy...

hello everyone. I felt like I should post on here. Since I am the submissive in question.  First of all I dont feel the need to share the specifics of our mentor/pupil relationship. It is working for us. Second Thank you everyone for your comments. I am an adult and I can take care of myself. I do feel the need to have a protector because I do make stupid decisions sometimes and because of who I am inside. I also would like to say that Knight has been an excellent teacher, guider, and protector for me. There may be lots of people out there who wouldnt benefit from a mentor/pupil type relationship. I can say that it has worked for me. And of course I dont give out my password to people online. Its easy for me to just hit ignore. i dont see any point in dealing with people that are not worth my time. CM the chatrooms and the forum. It has really been a great experience for me. Feel free to message me if you have any comments, if your new or if you just need someone to talk to. Hope everyone has had a good New Year!

Well, welcome!  If it works for you, then it works for you. You may wish, though, to do some searching on what those terms mean, because they're not interchangeable (mentor, protector, teacher for the most part, and to a lesser degree, mentee and student/pupil).

Recently as in three weeks ago i tookon a young 21 year old submissive comepletely new to the lifestyle and agreed to mentor and guide her.I felt that collar me would be a good place for her to speak with others Doms and subs alike to help further her knowledge in the lifestyle.recntly a Dom who i wont mention became angry and stated that basically i was whoring her out and that she didnt belong here. Now i know opinions are like assholes and everyone has one.So guys id like to hear yours.
why do you let what a faceless, nameless boob bother you?

Keep doing what you think is right and works for all. So many opinions of how we should be and what box we should stuff ourselves into. I have been looking for the big book where all words and actions are absolute.
