There is news about the new Airport Security, Behavioral Observation etc etc. Who wants to travel anymore?

I mean it all ends up a bit unsavory and voyeuristic in a slimy way. Yikes.

Frustrating, or do you like all this Security madness?

I fucking hate it. It creeps the hell out of me. I detest the way we are all collectively accepting yet another invasion of privacy for bullshit reasons. It's all a lot of fucking lies that we need to all strip naked for the sake of safety, yet that's what we're going to have to do if we want to have the privilege to hop on the flight... Even more offensive is the current talk of "profiling".

We have much to learn from the way the Israelis do it. They train their staff to observe people for signs of stress: it makes so much more sense. But we won't do that, because there are millions of dollars to be made contracting for fucking lethal X-rays machines that will give cancer to frequent flyers... fucking hell!

Fuck it.

(Can you tell I'm angry  ?)

Honestly I think burkah type clothing would be a great fashion trend. I am thinking being to have my entire face covered except room to breath is a really appealing idea. I travel with public transit much more than I want to, and have a cashmere scarf to put over my mouth and nose to help with all the stinky folks yacking up crap and smelling like poo and things, looking at me yikes! Honestly I have been thinking fashion will move toward the middle east but we will make it look heaps cuter!

The added advantage of this kind of outfit is that men can't oggle as much. It's like a wall of privacy around you: it's quite wonderful how you are left alone to mind your own business when you wear one of those.

Tchadors at the airport: imagine :-) . I nearly came  .

i bet the people who flew out of a certain international airport would have been happy to know that airport security on minimum wage stopped a nine millimeter , a sharp spear, countless pepper spray , including police issued strength, arrows , countless bullets, bats, gun replicas.
edited to add: and we stood there quietly while you screamed at us because you didnt look like a terrorist.

Yeah, but seriously... making parents taste their child's own milk from the milk bottle, like they did to someone I know very, very personally? I call that overkill.

Are you trying to make this personal? Whatever for? I'm a very well seasoned traveller. I've been all across the globe, and I'm not the kind of person who screams at the security staff. I realise it's not their  fault, and that they're only obeying orders. I go through the fucking motions, with the rest of the sheep, like a good post 9/11 citizen of this fucked-up world.

Doesn't make it any less painful for me; nor do I become ignorant of the reality that if someone really wants to blow up a plane... they fucking well will find a way around the most stringent, freedom-crushing rules there are.

I was serious. They are measuring gait, stride etc.

I could understand it if a few pounds of Grade A smack up your ass was making you walk like a newly owned prison bitch, but your average terrorist probably just puts one foot in front of the other.
