I for one hate when that happens[;)](wishing I had been clever at the time of the incident)doing so afterwards would just make me feel worse[:-].( FYI..I am kidding  for anyone that isn't sure[;)]).

There would also have been no American revolution without guns. Guns and religion built this country, and that is a fact. I'm not a bible thumper, but I sure as hell don't want to live under Sharia law either, which is where we are headed if they continue to denigrate Christianity. I'll take Judeo-Christian based law any day which pretty much eliminates body parts being cut off.

Aw prairie-pizzas.  Referring to the line about Sharia law.  How many Muslims are in the country?  And somehow they're a big threat to Christianity?  That kind of paranoia sounds just like folks sounded when Catholics started emigrating to the US.

Read the OT  much?  Remember the stoning and such?

BTW, "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" was actually an advance at the time, in comparison to blood feuds.

Yeah my ego is so huge I can't resist but tell people who I am.

You should have just accepted the 'gun owners are slaves to their fears' line was just a throw away comment in response to the 'people without guns are slaves' comment. I’m honoured you thought it worthy of a response.

If that's what he actually said, I might have.

No he went a bit further and said the African slave trade could have been prevented if they had guns (which is one limited way of looking at it). The reality is guns caused some of the disparity that allowed it to happen and even now our technology is superior to other nations but we don’t exploit them in the same way. Societies can play one-upmanship in terms of firepower until the cows come home but it takes something else to create a peaceful society that can co-exist with another. Thus him saying guns create a peaceful society is a distortion by any reasonable standard. Guns and religion is all you need he said[:D]

You only have to read the first couple of lines to see what he said, worded differently but with the same meaning; people without guns are slaves. He is probably also one of those that bang on about the tyranny of government and how guns keep it at bay. Feel free to align yourself with that thought process but I always assumed that you had a more realistic and practical view, from previous threads of this nature.

Actually the whole "guns caused the African slave trade" thing presupposes that there weren't any slaves in Africa before the white colonialist bastards arrived, which sadly isn't the case.
