Dear Linda,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I was not familiar with his posts as I was obviously in different sections then he was but I appreciate that you were able to let the folks here know what happened.

I am also sure that Jeff is glad that his regular encounters on here know now the he did not just leave but that he had not chance to say good bye himself.

Therefore best wishes and my condolences to you and your family.

Linda,

I am rather new to the boards, so I did not know Jeff well, but I am very sorry for your loss, and grateful that you were able to let everyone here know about his passing. My condolences to you, his family and his friends.

SilverMark -> RE: Spinner of Tales (1/10/2010 3:56:49 PM)

I would like to add my thoughts and prayers to the condolences already expressed. Spinner was a thoughtful and quite bright man who's intellect I found enjoyable and who's views often mirrored my own but, even those who disagreed with him had to know he was a respectful and thoughtful man. He will be missed here and remembered well.

My condolences to you and your family for your loss .... try to hold onto the fact that he is not " gone " just "away"

Linda,

I never knew Spinner of Tales but recognize the name and the picture from both the boards and the other side.  My condolences to you and his family.

WyldHrt -> RE: Spinner of Tales (1/10/2010 4:17:49 PM)

My condolences to you and the rest of his family. He was a bright, engaging man whose words often sparked good debate in the political forums here, and who was respected even by those who disagreed with him. He will be missed.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences to you and your family. I don't often participate in the political threads, but always read them. Jeff's posts stood out because of his intelligence and wit. Thank you for letting us know what happened.

Linda - sorry for your loss; if its any comfort, his absence was noted just a day or so ago so you can rest assured he was well loved by many and respected by the rest.

Linda, I am so very sorry! I am trying to type though a few tears here and am stunned. I can only imagine how this feels for you and your loved one's! In just the emails that I shared with your beloved husband, I saw a wonderful man with a great heart. One whom I respected a lot!

A true gentleman from where I am sitting.

I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved! I wish you and all his loved one's well!

rulemylife -> RE: Spinner of Tales (1/10/2010 5:40:09 PM)

I'm sorry for your loss.  It must have been particularly hard right before the holidays.

I talked with Spinner both on the boards and in c-mails.

We were both on the same side of the fence politically, but even when we disagreed he was always unfailingly polite and made articulate, well-thought arguments.

I will miss him.

Linda, so many times as we plug into our screens and our flights of fame,
as our paths cross with those we might never have had the fortune of
sharing a thought or a passion with, voices within and without remind
us that these moments are only as real as we allow them to be.

This moment and the reality cuts like a knife. I am saddened deeply.

May all who had gathered here about him, to praise, or to duel, raise their
eyes to see, open their hearts to hear, embracing one another as they shall
embrace the day, with love ever always, with forgiveness in bounty, that we
would honor his memory this very moment in time.

Linda, I am so sorry for your loss!

I recognize his picture but I wasn't familiar with his posts. I don't go to the Politics and Religion section. So, I perved him just now. What a great profile! I'd appreciate it if you could find it in your heart to leave his journal up and keep his profile visible (unhidden) at least through next weekend so that I and others like me can read it. I'd like to learn whatever I can, from it. He seems like a very insightful person. I love that the last visible entry in his journal is a quote from Kermit The Frog! (From the song "Rainbow Connection".) .... If that's too much to ask, I'll understand of course. My heart goes out to you, and thank you for letting us know this awful news. The community here will miss him! Hopefully it helps to know that he was with family, at the end.

AnimusRex -> RE: Spinner of Tales (1/10/2010 5:52:48 PM)

Linda-

If a person's message board posts are any indication of his character, Jeff sounds like the sort of man who would cut a wide swath of goodwill and respect through a community.

His words always indicated a man who was thoughtful and earnest with firm opinions while being polite and respectful.
The boards will be a lesser place without him.

Kim and I offer our deepest condolences.
