According to todays Rassmussen poll, Coakley has a 2 point lead 49 to 47 over Brown. If she wins the democrats still lose. They didn't plan on spending 4 million extra to keep "Ted Kennedys" seat. When did it become his seat anyway.??

Ahhh who was it that said polls months before an election are meaningless.....Hmmm oh yea it was Reagen.

Edited to add:
PS - I like the TARP reference, another fact directed to the reality of no 'CHANGE' and the impotency of this Administration, amazing under the circumstances, to do anything different or effective.

Why would you expect a change since Obama voted for TARP as a Senator?

Other than to harp on your new buzzwords of "no change", which I must admit is somewhat of a refreshing change from "rewarding failure".

Of course - people such as you are content and pleased with all that's been accomplished by Obama and the Democratic party. The Republicans have the same blindly affiliated constituency base. Nothing can be done on either end of the polarized fringe; but it will be a tough sell come November to keep using the same old and tired; "It's Bush's fault" response to each and every ongoing, and getting worse, problem facing the country.

Nope.

There are a lot of things I am unhappy with Obama and the Democrats.

But you just blindly criticize everything Democratic while claiming you are not a supporter of either party.

You even went so far as to criticize Obama for allowing the Navy Seals to take down the pirates that were holding the captain of the Maersk Alabama hostage.

Servant, the Boston Globe had a poll that said she was at 50% to Brown's 35% last week!
I talked to my brother up in Mass tonight and he said "people are pissed, it's like a revolt."
And absentee votes are pouring in, one town had 39 last election now they have 329.

It gets worse for Martha.
When her guy knocked that reporter to the ground last night she was comming out of a fundraising meeting. But not just any fundraising meeting, she met with *Lobbyists* from the healthcare industry, the big pharma guys, G.E. who'll be making a lot of the medical equipment under this new healthcare bill and a lot of others who would stand to make $big bucks$ from it.
Howie Carr this afternoon (WRKO 680 AM Boston) was talking about certain cases that she "broomed away" while D.A. including one of a judge who was popped for dwi.

She broomed away, she refused to prosecute Father Gagan back when he first started preying on the kids in his parish, she prosecuted a Dad who punched a funny uncle in the BR, after the funny uncle had just tried to be funny with the assailants kid. The assailant was an illegal alien and he ran once bonded. A few months ago a college student was attacked at night in the University or college and an off duty security guard came to her rescue, shotting the perp, and Martha got on the news and said he was in the wrong and should have steered clear and just called the cops. The perp was in the process of murdering the victim calling 911 would have assured the womans death, due to the wait factor The stories go on and on.

Things are looking good for Scott Brown, but this is Massachusettes, and it will be a miracle if Brown pulls it off. I will try and find the article, but the Dem machine here in Peoples Republic of Mass are saying that if Brown wins, they are going to block it until after the Healthcare vote, using absentee ballot counting and challenging the election. We are probably almost as corrupt a state as Rhode Island is and getting closer to overtaking them everyday.

We Scott Brown supporters are praying for a snowstorm, as this is a special election and voter turnout is less likely in a snowstorm. But Brown supporters will turn out in droves no matter what the weather.

mbmbn
And yes, I mispelled Masachuseets cuz that's how Martha spelled it in her ad.

Good point and that makes the video is accurate in including it. Why then did you bring it up in the first place?

Rewarding failure will come into play if any of those currently in office get reelected - stay tuned.

Were it so "blindly" done - you'd be responding to the points versus my reaction to them.

You're right - I did criticize the Seals shooting a 15 year old in the head; and would represent were it the prior administration more would be doing the same.

However, what I was pointing out at the time was how that shooting represented the reality of the world Obama was facing and how just 'chatting' with the enemy, any enemy, and being their 'friend' doesn't work. Over the past year - more examples of that same reality have occurred. The man doesn't seem ready for the realities of the office he won.

popeye1250 -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/14/2010 1:34:25 PM)

Howie Carr just played a tape of Barney Frank being asked if Scott Brown would not be seated until after the healthcare vote and he replied; "That's a disgusting right-wing rumor!"
The thing is, the interim democratic senator Paul Kirk who's filling in until a new senator is elected is the one who said that! lolol!
Gawd this is funny! The dems are fast approaching "full panic" stage.

maybemaybenot -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/14/2010 2:31:53 PM)

That's just how out of touch Frank is. Here is a good article for you Popeye. It was our very fine Sec of State who said he may have to delay the results. We have no voting rights here in Mass. anymore. These bufoons in charge change our elections/special election and election results however and whenever it suits the Democratic party. My guess is if Coakley wins, no delay of absentee ballots, Brown wins, big delay.  :

Secretary of State William F. Galvin, citing state law, says city and town clerks must wait at least 10 days for absentee ballots to arrive before they certify the results of the Jan. 19 election. They then have five more days to file the returns with his office.
Galvin bypassed the provision in 2007 so his fellow Democrats could gain a House vote they needed to override a veto of then-Republican President George W. Bush, but the secretary says U.S. Senate rules would preclude a similar rush today.
The potential delay has become a rallying point for the GOP, which argues Democrats have been twisting the rules to pass the health care bill despite public opposition. It's also prompted criticism from government watchdogs.

popeye1250 -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/14/2010 3:14:43 PM)

Maybe, Howie's had Scott Brown on his show everyday this week for 10 to 20 minutes at the top of the show.
He said Martha Coakley has an open invitation and she has all the telephone numbers but, "when the phone don't ring it'll be Martha!"
Gawd, now the *ACLU* has come out for Coakley! lolol

I brought it up because both you and the video implied that somehow Obama's pledge of change was going to include reversing a Bush program that he voted for.

No, I would not be criticizing it even if it were the prior administration.

I don't understand how you are criticizing the actions taken to save the Alabama captain on one hand, while claiming  " the reality of the world Obama was facing and how just 'chatting' with the enemy, any enemy, and being their 'friend' doesn't work."

Let's summarize.

Obama was wrong to order the shooting of the Somali pirates that were about to kill an American but then you go on to criticize him as wrong for his attempts at negotiation with other countries because chatting with the enemy doesn't work.

And you don't see the contradiction in your positions?

maybemaybenot -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/14/2010 3:31:18 PM)

She has had an open invitation on Michael Grahams show too. He even put out the offer that she could bring her own mediator. Where the hell is she anyway, haven't seen her since the debate. She sure got her negative ads within minutes of the debates end, then hightailed it for DC. Brown will not retaliate, he has repeatedly said, he will not do negative campaign ads or campaigning. That's one thing I have admired about him for years < he's my state senator >: he has integrity.

I have to wonder if Coakley's negative ads will backfire. All these ads say is Scott Brown, Scott Brown, Scott Brown. Not one word about Martha Coakley or what she stands for, just trashing Brown with no alternative offered. It will be intersting to see.

No surprise about the ACLU.

BUT !! It should speak volumes to the voters of Mass, that the Police Unions are in support of Brown. She's been a prosector, DA and now AG, and the police won't back her. Perhaps if she had worked with them, instead of against them for years, she would have gotten their support.

I don't think Brown will win, but it is the first exciting race in this state since Romney challenged Kennedy for the Senate seat. And I will be absoltely tickled to death if he pulls it off. I will be out campaigning for him this weekend. I joined the Scott Brown Volunteers this week and can't wait to get out there.

Mbmbn, yeah, Howie said Martha's "MIA". Noone's seen her.
My brother is a Fire Lt. in Woburn and he said they're going for Brown too.
And Howie said there have been 89,000 absentee ballots mailed in as of 5 pm today and they expect many more before the election on tuesday.

maybemaybenot -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/14/2010 4:51:43 PM)

We's trying our bestest, Popeye !

And I stand corrected, Scott came out with a " negative " ad this afternoon. I don't really see it as negative, more a rebuttal to  the Coakley Machine. Check for yourself:

Mbmbn, that's funny! "Without lobbists this town wouldn't work."
Without lobbyists it might work the way it's supposed to work!
So, it's pretty obvious that Martha Coakley is "in the pockets" as Howie would say of the lobbyists! Gee, maybe that's why she doesn't want to go on the air with Howie, "difficult questions."
Boy, the lobbists buttonhole them *before* they're even elected.

maybemaybenot -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/14/2010 6:03:19 PM)

LOL, now, now  Obama has cracked down on the lobbyists, remember ? Except for... well,, the list is too long now. But he's gotten tough on them.

Oh he has? You mean like "no golfing with congressmen on tuesdays?" Something like that?
"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

Sanity -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/15/2010 5:52:52 AM)

Speaking of Obama, I wonder why he hasn't made any appearences in Massachusetts campaigning for Martha Coakley. Do you think its because he would hurt her more than he would help?

Lucylastic -> RE: Left Wingers Losing Their Seats? (1/15/2010 5:59:06 AM)

fuck, if he did that all you would do is bitch about him wasting time shoring up his dems than tackling the US issues as a whole.
guy has a time consuming job,
Im sure he would love to know you are deciding what his priorities should be
