SERVICE??????????

Service used to be one of the main things a submissive, and especially a slave provided for their Master/Mistress. The submissive or slave did not always enjoy the servitude for itself but normally did enjoy the feeling of pleasing their owners and doing things for them.

......

I could swear I saw this post, verbatim, in another forum recently... *scratches his head*  Good thing I'm easily distrac...

Hey how bout them NCAA playoffs?

Amen to that.  i pride myself on being a full-service slave, who tends to household matters beneath my master's dignity, and on catering to His every whim.  If this has gone out of the lifestyle, i can only attribute it to the laziness and self-centered attitudes of the flower children polluting later generations

But I know many doms and vanillas and switches who pay attention to this immediately.  I know I pay attention to these things immediately with my family and friends and partners, no matter what dynamic we're in.  And I know lots of subs who say they are surprised by how well their dom knows them, and can anticipate their needs and wants very quickly.

What you say is very true. If you find a partner like this hang on to them, vanilla, switch, dom/domme.

Off on a side rant (and this is not meant to say anything about you or your beliefs): It always kind of bugs me when people decide they want to be a Dom/me or a sub and they only think about the stuff that they want out of it. I think anyone should consider all aspects from all angles when getting into anything.

I agree with you, and well said.

You are not ranting, you are not complaining, you are simply making an observation that things (read 'service style submissives') are not what they used to be (read 'as you have determined they should be'). Yet you are unwilling to examine a solution or explore a different set of expectations.  So what was the point of your OP?

Since the topic of this thread is "What ever happened to service", yes i am making the observation that service style subs/slaves are not as prevalent as they used to be, based on my experience and the experience of other longtime lifestylers i know.

As to your comment "read 'as you have determined they should be' ", i am going to ask you for a favor. Can you cut and paste any part of any post i have made in this thread where i made that statement and post it here?

Or if you cannot can you explain to me why you appear to be able to read my mind and post what you did in afore mentioned comment, yet seem incapable of comprehending being able to joyfully learn to anticipate a Master or Mistress's desires.

The point of this thread was for perspicacious adults in the bdsm lifestyle to discourse upon the stated theorem in any mode of their choosing, regardless of their beliefs, to expand the knowledge base on this subject, to hold enlightening conversation thereby augmenting ones cortical substance.
