Status: offline 		I went back and looked at your post again Sanity. I do not see an invasion. I see troops going in to help with evacuations, rescues, clean up, even body removal. Along side that i see protection provided, a massave water treatment team, and floating hospitals. Cuba has sent over 400 Dr's.

I do not see an invasion.

What does this have to do with Haiti inviting us to distribute aid....

Everybody owns guns there, tell you what, if that is the weak line of reasoning now (since all others have been summarily and soundly rebutted) then lets take Dismal Seepage, IA hostage, and see how that would play out in america. My bets is that at least the tea baggers would invade and help them out.

Uh, so if a portion was indeed held hostage, where was the uprising, they damn sure aint afraid of us, we get bombed all the time, and shot at. Saddam loomed so much larger that the populus shat its collective pants compared to the full might and treasury of the United States? This wasnt the first time we been there...........

He sees a thread that puts his beloved Rush in a bad light, and bangs away for a day or two trying to find some way to derail it so that it's not about his hero anymore. His first few attempts miss the mark, but he keeps trying, and eventually he stumbles across a gambit that works - claiming that the American relief effort is actually a military invasion, no different than the invasion of Iraq. Except worse, in some vague, inexplicable way.

And suddenly the thread's not about his master, Rush, anymore. Now it's about Iraq, and the evil lefties. Just like he always does, he's spammed the thread with page after page after page of psychotic babbling about how Obama is invading Haiti with a fleet of hospital ships. That's the value of just blocking the idiot - granted, the thread's still effectively derailed, but you don't have to wade through several pages of his bullshit posts in order to pick out the worthwhile contributions by the normal posters.

In keeping with the original point of the thread:
I will not phrase it that way, as it is inflammatory.
What I will say (referring back to my previous post) is that Rush does not understand that we have a moral obligation to provide aid.
Furthermore, Rush does not understand that it would have not mattered who was sitting in the Oval Office this week; republican OR democrat, the President would have given aid.

[Rush] does not comprehend that even if it was true that humanitarian assistance was solely politically motivated in this case, that is is much the lesser of 2 evils:
giving aid or withholding it to make a point.
