Though to be fair I don't know what Rush said, and being a paid satirist he may have some cover, as does Garrison Keillor (sp?) on those occasions that he says stupid things. And Pat Robertson, when not checking the air in his tires at God's behest (RIP Sam Kinnison), does in fact send aid around the world including to Haiti. If Danny G. is doing the same, then good on him - we can let a moronic comment or two slide.

From what I heard he didn't link the two events directly but instead highlighted this is the kind of humanitarian crisis that could occur (in terms of magnitude) as the result of climate change. He was just calling for the US to take a leadership role in such global discussions, this is all. I don’t think any sensible person could make such a link.

The poorest nations are often island nations, and they are the ones that will be most impacted by tragedies that global warming will cause. The Haitian earthquake is an example of the fact that the global community still lacks the ability to respond to such situations effectively.
