Don't waste your time or money.

I wouldn't be wasting my money... I have the equipment already...

and since I am home anyways time wouldn't be a factor either

LOL.  I sure would.  I've been wanting cookies for a few days now.  Glad things have settled down there though.  :)

Well, got that logo done, or at least the drawn part.  I'll get that up here (because, really, why not?) once I get off my lazy butt and scan it this evening. ;)

LOL, no problem. :)  Figured it might just be fun to doodle that up.

AnimusRex -> RE: Should I do an EVP in my Apartment? (1/25/2010 9:27:37 PM)

I would urge some caution here.

I am agnostic about paranormal things; they could be completely true, or explainable by other things; I just don't know.
But what I do know, is we- all of us- are powerfully susceptible to fear, the the more primal and deep the fear is, the more power it has over us.

I wouldn't recommend a professional ghost hunter, someone who is invested in the outcome- someone who has their own belief systems to validate, or website to promote or book to sell. They are interested in the phenomenon, not you or your needs.

Could you get a disinterested outsider, maybe a friend or classmate who could spend a few nights and corroborate your feelings? This way, if they share your observatiosn, that would point to one solution- if they don't it points to another.

LOL, thank you :)  As far as what to call ourselves, well, I can't repeat in polite company what most people call me, so I'm not much help there I'm afraid. [:D]

1. There is no afterlife, therefore, no ghosts or malevolent spirits. Hey, took me awhile to figger out my beloved grandfather wasn't floating above us and watching me do wonderful, terrrrible things to wonderful young men.
2. Fear and guilt can kill; ghosts can't
3. Draft-proof your house and nail down and carpet your floorboards to stop the temperature drops and 'mysterious' creaks
4. Get more exercise
5. Think of an EVF'er as a Darwin award for your pocketbook. Give the $$ you were going to give for an 'EVF' snakeoil salesman to the Red Cross for Haiti
6. Consider some psychotherapy if you continue to feel fearful or guilty about your life or house
7. You'll sleep soooo much better if you do.

[dusts hands] Saved another one!
Good luck!

You know, people who crap all over other people's belief systems or lack thereof are just fucking obnoxious...

I suggest you get a personality coach

LOL, well played Julia.  :)  I knew I liked you. [:D]

SirAldwyn -> RE: Should I do an EVP in my Apartment? (1/26/2010 9:00:10 PM)

I have no belief in them at all, and if you do a goggle search you will find Penn & Tellers offer of over 10 million bucks to anyone who can prove the paranormal exists.  In the 20 + years the offer has been made every one has been proved to be a fake, and nothing more than magic tricks to con people out of their money

KITTYLECTRO -> RE: Should I do an EVP in my Apartment? (1/26/2010 9:02:31 PM)

I still say 'go for it'.

Quite true, but at the same time, I've not seen proof that it doesn't exist.  Hence my interest.  I want to know one way or the other.  As soon as solid proof is given one way or the other, that's where I go.  Until then, I'm keeping an open mind either way.  However, I do lean more toward belief in them, because I've seen and experienced some things that stick with me to this day, and have absolutely no way at all of explaining them away.  And I'll go out on limbs to try to explain things like that away that are far more far fetched than saying "ghost". *shrug*

To each his/her own I guess.  Still doesn't make knocking someone else's beliefs any less jerktastic.  There's just some things we won't know for certain until it's way too late to tell someone else about them.
