That sounds dangerously close to love... or it's beginnings to Me.

We lived and loved together for two years.  Went our separate ways, but maintained the friendship and casual sex.  I count him one of my best friends today, and that was over 6 years ago.

Now if only I could only find that sort sex and friendship combination in someone with a dominant personality.

Jeffff -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 10:33:15 AM)

Tell me about it.

except for the Dominant part anyway...:)

"Fuck buddy" is not a new term in the gay world. I think a synonym in the straight world is "booty call."  Yes, straight "fuck buddies" are as described.  It's just that "fuck buddies" in the gay world covers both the booty call and the friend with privileges.  Summary: All men are pigs.  Put two in the same room and sex happening is a definite possiblity.  Just sayin'

I've had gay male roommates in my early 20s. I know this well! You whores (and I say this affectionately) ;-)

In French, we call them un ami érotique (an erotic friend).

Funny how pretty much anything sounds delicious in french [;)]

Oui, absolument! I love messing with non-French speaking men's heads by saying humiliating things to them in French and watch them get all goo-goo faced. And I'm not even talking about the submissive ones! ;-)

Oh and on the OP note, I now have De La Soul "Buddy" (circa 1990) stuck in my head. Thanks! :-)

pyroaquatic -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 12:09:21 PM)

Nope, not for me. I find that in a fuck buddy type situation there is a complete lack of orgasm. If I am to give myself (and my penis) it is out of love, and not lust. Sure I can ejaculate but then it is just paint on the walls.

and being erotic can be completely separate from penetration.

wow. over the course of a year I have only had one completely satisfying orgasm.

Sex, and just sex... is not very interesting to me.

I would have to formulate my thoughts on this further. There is more I want to say but I do not know how.

DesFIP -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 12:10:28 PM)

It can be a long term friend who you are compatible with as friends, and sexually, but not in a romantic sense. With whom, when neither of you are otherwise in a relationship you not only go to dinner and the movies as friends do, but also have sex with. And when one of you is in a relationship, you drop the sex part and still go out to the movies with your friend and his/her new partner.

Obviously like any other relationship it requires usage of condoms and std scans.

dreamerdreaming -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 12:24:35 PM)

Hello! Welcome to the fray!

I like your picture.  [:)]

Fuck buddy is when you're already good friends, and both single. That's my concept of it because that's how it happened for me. Its when you're between partners, and you have this really great friend who you adore, so you want to take care of each other in the meantime.

So if you want a fuck buddy, look around you. Who loves you, as a friend? Who do you care about, who maybe could use a fuck buddy?

That might be just my concept of it- I haven't read the thread yet. Others may say that they look amongst strangers, for a fuck buddy.

*scurries away to read thread*

Edited to add: Okay I'm back. It seems that there's a general consensus that the term "fuck buddy" is someone who's already a good friend, who we are just with when we're both available. Then when we find other partners we go back to being just friends.

Sounds like fun to me except for the STDs going around today! And is it going around in this style as well or not?

Yeah, cuz there were no STD's going around back in the old days.  [8|]

LillyoftheVally -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 12:47:43 PM)

I had a wonderful fuck buddy, we didnt get on at all in any other capacity really, he wasnt a terrible person just not my type at all.

As for STD's we used protection

As for no orgasms, only simultaneously ones ever

Thats because you haven't been to a wookie fetish club

...wookies take sex to a whole new level [8D]

Tried the 'fuck budy' thing awhile back. Seems to be the only thing that works for her given that shes constantly all over the place and doesn't spend much time at home (shes a flight attendant) I don't see much point to it myself. But shes cute and i'm only going to be young once so what the hell right lol [:D]

yup, exactly.

When I first moved to Boston I found myself with a fuck buddy.  He was about 10 years my junior, a hot, in shape, fun guy to hang out with, play video games, go to the bar, go to parties, etc but I didn't feel anything romantic towards him, nor him towards me.  We were at completely different points in our lives, and other than socializing and tattoos, we had next to nothing in common. We'd talk about the other people we were seeing, hang out, sometimes we'd have sex, sometimes we wouldn't.  No biggie, either way, extremely casual, no expectations.  Basically we were friends, and if neither of us had anything better to do, well, why not?   We're still good friends, I see him all the time, even though I'm in a relationship now, and he and my Master know each other.

Not saying it's for everyone, but if you're single, why shouldn't you be able to be silly and get back rubs, cuddles etc? I'm more comfortable doing that with a friend than some random hook up at a bar...

rockspider -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 2:02:50 PM)

I never used the term myself, but one day my then 12 year old daugther asked me: "Is she your fuck buddy, daddy?". I must say I was a litle stuck for words in that situation, but i could say that it has been a rewarding situation for both. I prefer thou the term "my special friend".

ItsAProcess -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 2:51:36 PM)

Hmmm. Fuckbuddies, Erotic Friendships, SexFriends, OrgasmPals ( Sounds like a bad sexual-heros porno)... The list of terms goes on.

Personally? I think they're fun. Just make sure you know the other person is clean and it's straight sailing to mutual fulfillment and enjoyment. I personally tend to spend more time with SexFriends (My personal favorite term) than I do in LTR. Mostly because I'm selective about those I court romantically. And sure, there's always Rosy Palm and her five sisters.. but it's just not the same.

Moral Of The Rambling: Be safe about it, and it's perfectly fine. Just don't forget to remember the 'Friend' part. Some people have that issue. The relationships devolve into naught but sex and eventually what was once a great friendship becomes naught more than mutual orgasm hunting.

Personally, that's not a trade off I'd like to make.

See I use the term fuck buddy because thats what they are someone I have sex with without needing it to be anything else, when I had my favorite one we weren't friends, we worked together, I knew next to nothing about him to be honest he wasn't a mate he was a shag, I don't like to mix sex and friends if you have great sex with them and get on well with them whats stopping feelings developing?

Just my opinion

say what? as in both partners climax?

WOOKIE WHAT!!!

Do they seriously have Wookie fetishclubs? i wonder what a waxed wookie looks like.

I can do things like backrubs, and cuddling. Sex brings a whole batch of feelings that I am apparently not ready for yet.

so no sex.

Not that i'm aware of....but considering theres hardcore star wars fans and people that like furries it wouldn't really suprise me...besides everyone knows LadyPact can do the whole force lighting trick...

I can see it now...a guy dressed like a wookie and getting whipped...and letting out one of those loud roars Chewie did all the time [8D]

LOL wow indeed. When a 12 year old asks that question....it may be a sign that its time to be a little more low key with the kinkiness...

Firebirdseeking -> RE: A "Fuck" Buddy?? (1/23/2010 5:21:45 PM)

Lady A, its interesting that no one picked up on your inclusion of "play partner" in the words used to describe the "fuck buddy" relationship.

I have long felt that "play partner" is essentially the BDSM equivalent as a vanilla fuck buddy.  I do realize that not all play partners fuck - but Ill bet most do.
