It's yeast extract. Similar to Vegimite, but shinier, darker, and better (most Aussies disagree with that assessment :-) .

Thanks for the link, but at that price, what's a relatively cheap food stuff is a luxury I can't quite afford right now *sigh*.

So odds are good I'll like it. *makes a note* I'll let you know if I find it cheaper. I usually get my Vegimate at the local branch of a chain that specializes in food/wine/beer/jewelry and home furnishings from around the world. If I see Marmite there (or elsewhere in my searches) cheaper I'll let you know.

Thanks, Aqua, and remember... never eat yeast extract before getting very close to someone and running the risk of having to kiss them  .

You say this not realizing I'm the girl who will eat a pickle, run up to Val and go "Pickle kisses!!!" while he glares at me.

He hates pickles. I love them. I'm impish. He likes to swat me. It all works out...

Vegimate is that zucchini you've been buying for nefarious purposes.

Vegemite is very, very different.

I have never claimed to be able to spell.

Meanie...

(Besides... I would never get it on with a zucchini. I've got way too many vibs to ignore them like that.)

Aquaticsub, when I was grocery shopping yesterday, I went by the pickle section and thought about you. I was this close to getting the kosher baby dills.

One thing we need over here in the U.S. of A. is a Marks & Spencer's - I know they went through a difficult last decade, but I need their sandwiches and already-made food (and their tights and underwear)... Where oh where are thou, Marks & Sparks  ?

You're such a darling! But I fear the U.S. Customs wouldn't let it through. They're notoriously anti importation of food stuff, and what with the way Marmite looks, they're bound to confiscate it under the suspicion that it's some kind of bomb-making substance.
