It's not the sort of thing I see in people who have real-life experience in BDSM... more from the "I learned this online" crowd.

Very true. But all of osf's posts and his profile read as if he's just learned online and done chat rooms only.

It is amazing how obvious it is isn't it? obvious to everyone except to one that has only such a learning experience

Do you as a submissive woman feel you have a greater obligation to other people to carry out your word than you feel a non submissive woman does and why

now this will be personal to each and i can't answer for you, so don't ask me

its a personality trait. some people posses it and some people dont.

casting my mind around the people i know, i would say that the personality types that are most dependable, the ones i know are good to their word are, actually, vanilla, but are also quite submissive by vanilla standards.

shrugs - sorry, but its true. im thinking around all of the women i know and its true to say that the ones who are more likely to go out of their way to keep their word are submissive in nature.

that might just be that the others are just a tiny bit more realistic or cagey about putting themselves out for another - but those people are not in the least bit submissive in nature.

the women that i can think of who are submissive in their relationships, though not in an archetypal Ds or Ms manner are far more likely to go the extra mile, do as they promise and care about keeping their word.

its still a personality trait.

but i would not say that all submisives because they identify with being submissive are more likely to be reliable. in fact ive known a couple of subs who were completely unreliable to every other person other than their D. so no, it doesnt follow necessarily.

I have absolutely no idea what that means.

Sure nuff, I read it again, still have no idea what you were trying to say.  If you want to get technical, printed words cause nothing except a display of pixels.  But that is merely a smokescreen to what we were discussing, and that is the false situations set up, in the manner of preteens in mommy's basement, instead of a situation where people might learn something from each other that is helpful, whether the person has any real life experience or not.

I still say that goose looks a lot like a duck.
As to the OP, integrity is not, in my experience, any more or less prevalent among submissives than in any other demographic group.  There's far too little of it in general.  If a submissive has integrity, it's not likely she does because she is submissive. Although if anyone believe that they have better values as a result of being submissive, I think that might be worth a discussion.

I can't honestly say that I can make a broad sweeping generalization about how I internalize integrity as opposed to how anyone 'not submissive' would.  I do think that certain submissives exhibit a people-pleasing tendency, but even that is not a good generalization because some submissives only feel the need to please the dominant that possesses them.  I've also known some people-pleasing dominants.  Which tends to support the theory that (integrity/lack of integrity/people pleasing/assissm etc.) is not universally attributable to any single orientation.
