I wonder if it would be possible to create a filtering system.

For example, to prevent anyone who has set themselves as "looking" from ever seeing your "friends only" profile?

Or...to be able to report those who are sending solicitations to inappropriate categories?

Just some thoughts.

Well if you'd like to make a substantial donation to CM, I'm sure the site owner would consider hiring programmers to do it.

I'm sorry, angelika, I disagree with your assessment. Those too cowardly or
stupid to offer intelligent arguments tend to hide their snide remarks behind a thin
veneer of "humor", usually as nasty sarcasm.

I don't find that insulting people "lightens things up", and it's sad that you do.

OP, I'm confused.  I didn't see LA insulting you, but see you calling her cowardly and stupid, and then complain that she insulted you.  Am I reading all this correctly?

She made a crack about the site being free. Every time someone brings this issue up (I'm estimating once a week) someone makes exactly that joke.

It was sarcasm but it wasn't nasty. I've seen no evidence that Aylee is either cowardly or stupid. In fact, although I've never met her, I'm pretty sure she is neither of those things.

You weren't insulted at all-you came in with a common gripe and someone gave the standard answer. I would say your defensive reaction said something about you, not Aylee.

I'm missing LA's first insult, too.  Just seeing the OP's reaction, so I'm totally at a loss as to what he's mad about.

He's mad at Aylee, not Lady A-Lady A defended her when he complained about a quip she made.

Both of us. He called me out.. "angelika"

I guess you missed it as he's using domineering tactics like spelling my name in lowercase without the Lady - just something domineering individuals who think the world should cater to their nees for free does. ;-)

The old line about 'getting your money back from a free site' is not an insult. It's a variation of the 'take it or leave it' fallacy, but you'd have to be pretty sensitive to call it an "insult".

No, I saw it-I just didn't want to rise to it on your behalf, in case you weren't bothered by it-I figured you would bring it up if you were, and I didn't want to add to the mess if you weren't.

Ebony! It's sub zero weather out there (even sub zero in °F). I'm staying in, watching movies, doing homework and causing trouble.

Invite me to sunny California and I'll show you legggggs.

The highlighted above is what I wanted to mention.

OP, you have no control over anyone that you do not own.  Whether you like how other people have their filters or 'searching for' criteria is essentially tough cookies.  It would be My opinion that most Dominants who know what control is about realize what is within their own realm and what is not.  If something is within My authority, I handle it.  If it isn't, I deal with how I react to it.  In other words, pissing against the wind does nothing but get your face wet.

To add:

The free-site point is, in this case, a valid one... if it were a pay site with programmers actually getting a wage from memberships then the search parameters may well mean more and there may be more of them.  As it is, it's a free site and if something doesn't work right nothing is really lost except dicking-around-on-the-internet time.

Is it me, or does someone get really pissed off for a really weird reason at least once a day around here?

...her profile clearly states that she is "owned", and that she is NOT available.

But, if you fail to correctly set your profile parameters...

She DID set her "profile parameters"... she stated SHE IS OWNED!!!

She doesn't have to change her "I am seeking" parameters, as this indicates where her interests are... if this upsets your apple cart, then YOU are the one with the problem; not her.  Anyone with a brain would see she's stated she's owned and move on to the next person.  Those who feel the need to WHINE because, God forbid, an owned sub/slave popped up in their precious "search" and had to spend 3 seconds reading they are not available, show themselves as quite the frustrated little "boo hoo" cry-baby; and quite frankly, hardly dominant in my view.  Just move on to the next profile... that's what an adult would do; without whining about it.

...it is amusing to hear complaints from someone who hasn't taken even the most-elementary steps to assure that her profile will only show up on appropriate searches.

And it is BORING (and quite frankly pathetic and embarrasing) to view an alleged dominant get their panties in such a bunch over something so minor; only places said alleged dominant in quite the wussy light.

...it's equally rude and equally a waste of my time if they're showing up in my search results as available.

You wasted more time with this post/thread.  As to your pecious "search results"... nobody owes you squat.  Get over yourself.

quote:

...and the first thing they're saying within the profile is "Fuck off, I'm Taken!"

And what does that tell you?  THAT OTHERS ARE IGNORING WHAT SHE'S STATED IN HER PROFILE!!!  I mean, duh?!!

For someone who is "looking"... do you think you're doing yourself any favors with this childish rant?  You do realize subs/slaves WILL click that little button to see what you've posted in the forums, don't you?  So by all means, if you want to ENSURE you'll be viewed as a cry-baby by a perspective sub/slave, then carry on.
