Except for the blood, and the kicked out part, this sounded almost familiar!  Would have really fucked being kicked out of my own club

However, I honestly don't think I can recall any other instance where I'd been to a public party and the scene had to be stopped.  In my experience, public play has always been safe, and I can't really think of a time I made notice of it not being.

Anyway, I have never seen a scene stopped except for this one time? At Paddles in NYC? There was this married couple from Texas and they did not understand the rules. I agree, poor gal! 

I wouldn't have thrown them out, though I would have stopped the scene and pulled them to the side to talk to them about the rules and why I had them.  Guest visitors paid our rent, I wasn't quick to burn bridges with them.

Status: offline 		It doesn't make me feel or think anything to be honest. Anytime I've ever been to a public event it's been to use the equipment and to be honest I don't really pay attention to whatever is going on around me.

It's just not a concern to me.

I look at people as adults who are more than capable of handling their own lives and if they can't they'll quickly learn!

As a DM, I don't give a flying fuck what "upsets the entire crowd."  If they don't like what they see, they can bring it to a DM's attention and/or walk away to the social area where they don't have to see it.

My job is to, number 1, ensure safety, and number 2, enforce the rules.  If someone appeared to be in distress, I would move in closer to get a better read on it.  I might even pull over someone who was known to be close to the couple to see if that was their normal style.  If a piece of equipment was about to break and the participants did not notice, I would certainly bring everything to a halt.  Note that none of this involves the delicate sensibilities of the crowd.

Well . . . it would be unsafe it was being done by anyone other than an expert! That’s the nature of edge play.

Status: offline 		Without judging this whole anecdote, I can honestly say that if a Dom is hanging around a play party and doesn't know what he's doing, the answer is not to kick him out or shut him up or ignore him and be glad you know better.  I think the reaction should be a more experienced Dom helping the new one and perhaps offering him a way to learn more; such as giving him a list of workshops, or even private mentoring.

People who don't know what to do aren't bad in and of themselves; it's only a person who knows exactly what they should do and ignores it in favor of his or her own selfishness that deserves to be cut off and judged as wrong.
