This just in....

Sarah Palin is not the President.

Worse? Well although there may be some question about whether her audience was 'Smarter than a 5th Grader'; Obama did feel the need to use one when he was lecturing a critically minded class of actual 5th graders. Maybe she wrote down the correct pronunciation for 'corpsman' so she wouldn't make that mistake?

How the mighty and confident have fallen! Has the President's image stumbled so low that daily comparisons to Sarah Palin are the straws grasped at by the faithful to stop them from loosing all hope and faith?

O.k. so wait, Sarah Palin made a criticism about Obama, people called her out for doing something similar, and they are grasping at straws, for criticizing her?  That's like if I tried to rob you, you punched me in the face, and then people started criticizing you for being violent.

Grasping at straws?  It seems to me that people are "Grasping at straws" when they pretend that this a relevant issue.

Obama uses a teleprompter? OMG WHO CARES!?!?

Maybe a certain other president might've benefited from a teleprompter during a press conference or two.  Perhaps they could have written 'nuclear' phonetically.

When I vote for a candidate, and I'm weighing the pros and cons, where exactly do you think "uses a teleprompter a lot" should rank on the list? Besides, he didn't use a teleprompter in his sit-down interview with partisan shill Bill O'Reilly.  Or in his head-on debate with the GOP in Baltimore last week.

What matters Are the ideas and feelings that he manages to get across, not the method.  Hell, I don't give a damn if he delivers his speech through interpretive dance, as long as there or subtitles.

I was getting confused myself. I keep seeing these comparisons of the president to her. I am not sure if this is a way for folks on the left to say "see Obama is just as qualified as she is" or "I am glad he won, because if McCain would have passed away we would be stuck with her.".

No, it's just a way of saying she is someone who should be in a well-qualified psychiatrist's office, laying on the couch and exploring her problems, not the oval office.

Just more garbage spewed out by people that cannot understand the issues that do jeopardize this nation.

Most folks have no idea how close we were to economic collapse.  All they see is government dollars going out.

Most folks have no idea what dissaray our health system is currently in.  Almost any step taken would be better in lieu of the current model that is in place.

People allow themselves to be duped.  My pops can only recall a time when he was working. He is not a fan of health reform.  The guy worked for the same company his entire working career and had fairly great benefits when compared to what is commonly offered today. The days of staying with "one" comany your working career are lone gone and even when somone is employed the amount of the  "underinsured" walking around is horrifying.

So many forget that even when the company has a health ins program in place it is being paid out of their salaries.  Thousands of dollars a year.

So rant on about teleprompters...Who really fucking cares?

She's an attractive moron.

God help us if she ever wins the White House.

If she can make a coherent speech with 5 lines written on her hand, I'd say she probably has a hell of a lot more knowledge than those who have to read every fucking line.

Having taught at seminars for 12 years, I got no problem with anyone who can address what they want to address with 5 bullet points. But the crazies certainly do. Anyone screamed palm-gate yet?

7 words scribbled on her hand for a 40 minute speech = Obama using a telepromter for every speech.

Not sure where you are going with this one. A slap at Palin or at the President?

It is an interesting comparison of how certain speakers prepare or use notes for a speech.

Yea, I can think of a lot of reasons to bash her, but this isn't one of them.

It wasn't a coherent speech and she read it off a prompter. Watch the speech and then try and say she isn't reading it.

I totally agree with the pretty VioletGray.

Violet, if my memory serves me right, you are the person that suggested that CM create a separate political section.

Well they did, and we don't see enough of you around here.

It's nice to see you posting.

Or rather I could roll my 12 sided die, play my esp spell and know without doubt she was. Oh wait, then I would be pulling direct statements out of my ass and posting them as if my enunciation of them was the final nail in the coffin of the debate.

Do you know how sad it is to go rabid over someone writing 5 bullet points on the palm of their hand?

About as sad as the crazy walking down the street with doom and gloom written on the placards adorning both sides of his body. But you go guy.

About as sad as the people who constantly whine over Obama's use of teleprompters.

Looking at it purely from the perspective of speechmaking, and judging how speeches are presented, having a single "page" of bullet notes is going to be far more acceptable than reading the whole damn thing.

But this is a Palin bashing thread, which means logic, reason, and facts from the real world are irrelevant. *

"Eewww!  She wrote on her hand!  Grody to the max!"

* (Snide comments are expected off that line, and will just be ignored unless you are prepared to discuss Obama's record fighting corruption in comparison to hers.)

Actually, I was making the point that neither was any worse than the other. However, considering that she was obviously reading her speech and never turned a page, I would venture that she was using both.

Then consider yourself in the same company as Palin, with the same mindset, and the same level of immature whinage. Yeah, I know, whinage isn't a word, but it fits. Whine-age.

There, happy?

Or perhaps her speech was just printed in a very small font?
