On Little House on the Prairie, there was a show about how a newcomer to town had bought a farm, and he assumed the property taxes were paid up. When they notified him how much he owed, he couldn't pay it. Well at the end of the show, The founder of the town Hans Larsen said "You mark my words, someday they will tax what a man earns." and the man behind him said "you mean an income tax?" Hans said "Yah." The man behind said "Impossible, that will never happen." If you can't figure out the significance of that episode I'll spell it out to you. Little by little, they introduce new taxes both liberals and RINO's, and little by little they go up on the taxes each year. Now, it's to the point where the democrats know you are on to them, so in the last election they promised you a middle class tax cut to get elected (totally uncharacteristic of democrats), knowing full well that once they gained control of both houses of congress, they would get far more money out of you in the long run by passing socialized healthcare, and a whole slew of backdoor taxes on corporations, small businesses, financial institutions, and energy companies. Keep in mind that eventually all these entities must pass this cost on to you the consumer. This is why they care called hidden or backdoor taxes. Liberals and RINO's aren't stupid, but the American voter is. True conservatives don't operate like this. Liberals and RINO's do. I'm the first one to place the blame on RINO's and liberals. My point is, why should your state have to pay for the Big Dig in Boston or a Bridge to No Where in Alaska? When are we going to figure out that each state is going to have to pay for their own projects, spending programs, and welfare programs. Social security, Medicare and Medicaid should be the only federally funded social programs, and that's only because they can pull the rabbit out of the hat, and print up money or change figures in computers at the federal reserve. That way those programs will positively be funded. A very simple solution to healthcare, although not nearly enough to control costs which is what is necessary, is to expand medicaid to poverty level legal citizens. It's unfortunate that they took unconstitutional approaches in both the house and the senate, massive new government programs, and included abortion and Illegal aliens in their packages. Just goes to show you how much common sense is in Washington. The house plan was obviously unconstitutional since the 10th amendment does not give the authority to the federal government to provide healthcare. Therefore the state has the authority here. The senate plan required people to buy health insurance, and that is unconstitutional as well. You can't force someone to buy something they don't want or can't afford. The argument that you are forced to buy car insurance is not the same, since you don't have to drive a car if you don't want to. http://babelishere.webs.com/health.html
