Man...I have not one idea what this sentence means, but when read aloud, it is fucking awesome. I added the exclamation point to make it awesomer.

Does this mean we don't get to argue now ? [:o]

Late "here" ... ? perhaps you may be unaware of my current location. Hope you slept well. Thanks for the post, I'll wait 'till later for our next "episode" then.

Surely I can just gratuitoustly insult the bloody leechlike monarchy once ... (not off topic because they're mercenary warmongers who only got where they are today through inbreeding and the spoils of attempted global military dominance) just as a consolation ? PARASITES !!! (ahhhhh ... see ... I feel better already [sm=evil.gif]) [:D]

Or to put it in Dorset terms:

The Man He Killed ~Thomas Hardy

"Had he and I but met
By some old ancient inn,
We should have sat us down to wet
Right many a nipperkin!

"But ranged as infantry,
And staring face to face,
I shot at him and he at me,
And killed him in his place.

"I shot him dead because --
Because he was my foe,
Just so -- my foe of course he was;
That's clear enough; although

"He thought he'd 'list perhaps,
Off-hand like -- just as I --
Was out of work -- had sold his traps --
No other reason why.

"Yes; quaint and curious war is!
You shoot a fellow down
You'd treat if met where any bar is,
Or help to half-a-crown."

Or in Scottish terms:

Sir Patrick Spens

The King sits in Dunfermline town,
Drinking the blood-red wine;
"O where shall I get a skeely skipper
To sail this ship or mine?"

Then up and spake an eldern knight,
Sat at the King's right knee:
"Sir Patrick Spens is the best sailor
That ever sailed the sea."

The King has written a broad letter,
And sealed it with his hand,
And sent it to Sir Patrick Spens,
Was walking on the strand.

"To Noroway, to Noroway,
To Noroway o'er the foam;
The King's daughter of Noroway,
'Tis thou must fetch her home."

The first line that Sir Patrick read,
A loud laugh laughed he;
The next line that Sir Patrick read,
The tear blinded his ee.

"O who is this has done this deed,
Has told the King of me,
To send us out at this time of the year,
To sail upon the sea?

"Be it wind, be it wet, be it hail, be it sleet,
Our ship must sail the foam;
The king's daughter of Noroway,
'Tis we must fetch her home."

They hoisted their sails on Monenday morn,
With all the speed they may;
And they have landed in Noroway
Upon a Wodensday

They had not been a week, a week,
In Noroway but twae,
When that the lords of Noroway
Began aloud to say, -

"Ye Scottishmen spend all our King's gowd,
And all our Queenis fee."
"Ye lie, ye lie, ye liars loud!
So loud I hear ye lie.

"For I brought as much of the white monie
As gane my men and me,
And a half-fou of the good red gowd
Out o'er the sea with me.

"Make ready, make ready, my merry men all,
Our good ship sails the morn."
"Now, ever alack, my master dear
I fear a deadly storm.

"I saw the new moon late yestreen
With the old moon in her arm;
And if we go to sea, master,
I fear we'll come to harm."

They had not sailed a league, a league,
A league but barely three,
When the lift grew dark, and the wind blew loud,
And gurly grew the sea.

The ankers brake and the top-masts lap,
It was such a deadly storm;
And the waves came o'er the broken ship
Till all her sides were torn.

"O where will I get a good sailor
Will take my helm in hand,
Till I get up to the tall top-mast
To see if I can spy land?"

"O here am I, a sailor good,
Will take the helm in hand,
Till you go up to the tall top-mast,
But I fear you'll ne'er spy land."

He had not gone a step, a step,
A step but barely ane,
When a bolt flew out of the good ship's side,
And the salt sea came in.

"Go fetch a web of the silken cloth,
Another of the twine,
And wap them into our good ship's side,
And let not the sea come in."

They fetched a web of the silken cloth,
Another of the twine,
And they wapp'd them into the good ship's side,
But still the sea came in.

O loth, both, were our good Scots lords
To wet their cork-heel'd shoon,
But long ere all the play was play'd
They wet their hats aboon.

And many was the feather-bed
That fluttered on the foam;
And many was the good lord's son
That never more came home.

The ladies wrang their fingers white,
The maidens tore their heair,
All for the sake of their true loves,
For them they'll see nae mair.

O lang, lang may the maidens sit
With their gold combs in their hair,
All waiting for their own dear loves,
For them they'll see nae mair.

O forty miles of Aberdeen,
'Tis fifty fathoms deep;
And there lies good Sir Patrick Spens,
With the Scots lords at his feet.

So does this mean that you now think I am "unamerikan" and an asshole or just an asshole?
How is my asking you a question that you are uncomfortable,unwilling or unable to answer make me an asshole?

slvemike4u -> RE: USA's Global MilitaryDominance: Real Reason for Sanctions Against Iran (2/17/2010 1:29:52 PM)

No you are an asshole by dint of your(dare i say this....oh what the fuck) anti American slant.Perhaps you missed my point earlier...you don't rant against isolated facets of American foreign policy...you rant against all US foreign policy(or at least thats the face you show here).Your characterization of our agression in each and every conflict we have been involved in is not worth refuting....but ,just for shit and giggles let me say this...you are full of shit and pretty much talk out of your ass.
None of your questions made me uncomfortable...all they did was reaffirm the old saying "a little bit of knowledge is dangerous"...in your case we are talking a very little bit !

With the exception of Alaska every inch of the U.S. was acquired by force of arms or the threat there of.
When you say that a little bit of knowledge is dangerous I will pick danger over ignorance every time.

Hmmm, I can think of at least 7 states that were aquired without the threat of force or American aggression, oh and big portions of at least 7 others...

The Louisiana Purchase......was it us holding a gun to Napoleans head?
The rest of your silly little list I will lead others to refute(though I will join with Ron in calling bullshit on WWII )
So now we have ignorance married to a little bit of knowledge.....and we wind up with you....an asshole sure of his illusions and willing to demonstrate his stupidity at the drop of a hat.
Hows that working for you?

Hey at least thompson is honest about it.

He is 100% in line with leftist heros like Zinn, Chmosky and Moore. All of whom are defended as geniuses by the left here.

WW II could have been avoided but but Churchill, Clemenceau, Roosevelt and a few others saw a chance to redraw the boarders of empire and voila we have WW II and more than 35 million dead bodies. That is not to say that Hitler and Mousilini were not into it up to their elbows.
I would agree that all wars are for agrandisement.
We were able to position ourselves in that one so the we got more than our nickles worth for the American blood shed.
