::: SIGH ::: I give a big sigh as I realize this is a train-wreck and that I just have to stop and look (and comment) when I know I've vowed to not do so. (I vowed at what? page 8 or 9 or so.....LOL!) As a gay man, I learned to "smell" an Evanglical Christian moralist a long time ago. Boob falls squarely in that category. There are morals and there are ethics. The difference cannot be found in most dictionaries where they are cross referenced. Morals: see Ethics. Ethics: see Morals. To me, the difference is simple to explain through an example. Until a year or so ago, here in Colorado it was illegal to sell package goods (alcoholic beverages in packages, i.e. bottled booze) on Sundays. HUH? Why does the calendar day make a difference in the legality? Of course, the Puritanical remanents of Prohibition remain in many places even to this day. "You will (will not) do what I say just because I tell you so," is as moralistic a statement as can be. The corresponding ETHICAL statement/Law (with a capital L) is "No one is allowed to drive drunk (regardless of the day of the week.)" The State has a vested interest in protecting all its citizens through such ethical laws. As an Atheist, I have NO morals - but I'll put my ethics up against anyone, including Boob (but he only wants to argue his moral position, not the ethics of the situation.) I could go on and on about "battles" I've had with such folk, but I'll take a pass. You know, I think Boob needs his own forum/board. Oh, wait....... there is one. It's the Politics and Religion Forum. I've read plenty of posts there and shudder at the lack of respect for logic. Lot of ranting and raving. Can you find any Lance post there? I don't think so. I prefer to get on with RL (which includes reading and writing on CM.) My presence here is explained by simple curiousity generated by finding that an "Introduction" thread/string/rope/cable had over 400 posts when the average length of the thread in that forum is well under 10 posts. Posting on the boards for me is cathartic, satisfying, and part of my RL. I feel a great responsibilty to help educate folks about Old Guard from A (with a capital "A," as in singular) gay Leatherman's point of view...... you see, there's so few of us left..... Oh, wait..... I guess that makes ME a LEGEND!!!! One more coherent thought and then I'm outta here...... I have used nails to attach the scrotum of a male "under my hand" to a board. Did it a few times in public. (Once at Thunder In the Mountains - Lady Pact, were you there?) Did it the remaining times in public as part of a CBT lesson (same guy always!) Practiced it in private before going public (of course!) Were we in love? Nope. That makes me think that the OP is confusing INTENSE scenes to mean non-casual scenes. Further, he seems to think that INTENSE scenes are possible only within a loving relationship. Oh, yeah.... I said I'm outta here. /Lance checks for his car keys. <funniest post on this massive waste of time. A waste except for the humor.>/ /Lance says "Bye, folks. I enjoyed this for awhile. My curiousity is satisfied and I promise y'all - and myself - that I'll never, ever, ever even open a string started by the OP."/ /Lance exits, closing the door quietly as he shakes his head, going off in search of threads which are reasonable, instructive, logical and helpful - all of which said threads relate to understandable questions./ /Lance re-opens the door, sticking his head just inside to say: When I typed that last, I just now realized that the OP started this thread with a quote from the Cowardly Lion..... "Put up your dukes. Put 'em up. Put 'em up. C'mon, I dare ya, I dare ya." That's what I read in the OP; a quote from a Cowardly Legend........er,........ Lion. Stop, Lance. Stop. /Closes door gently./ Edited for punctuation, spelling and "smoothness of flow."
