When my son would throw a tantrum, I would smile because I understood his frustrations and a smile was the best way to reassure him that the situation was not as bad as he thought it was.

Bob, it is a jungle out here. Considering your insecurity and other peculiarities, I counsel you to abandon posting on the internet. I understand that you want to socialize and to be respected for who you are, but the reality is that you are attracting a lot of flack (anti-aircraft fire, but you ought to know what flack is) and will nearly continuously be hurt. I do not think that is healthy and good for your mind.
Also go talk about your problems with someone from real life whom you trust, your physician or priest, or a neighbor for example.
