Try this on for size...

In order to confiscate my rifle, the government would have to charge me with a crime, allow me to respond, be represented by attorney, then hold a public hearing, with all the rules of procedure, assumption of innocence, until finally, upon proving that I had somehow committed a felony, confiscate the rifle.

On the other hand, as they did with Jose Padilla, the government could simply detain me at the airport, throw me into a military brig, without charges, representation, a trial, without any sort of evidence, and hold me in prison for as long as they wished, at the whim of the Executive.

Oh, and while I am rotting in prison? My rifle is safe and secure, in my hall closet, enjoying the full protections of the 2nd Amendment.

So if you don't mind, I suggest one more to add to your list of bon mots...(French for "bumper sticker")

I just entertained this for fun. In reality the UN doesn't mean shit. Israel sands in violation of how many resolutions, and how many do we ? We simply don't care. It's never going to happen with castle law in place anyway, and there is only one court in this country that can overturn that.

It is a known fact around the world that the US, like me, does exactly whater it feels like. The others know that if they push this issue too much it will be in the streets and they don't want that,,,,,,, yet.

But they are waiting for us to ask for help, because they are not stupid and they see that our economy is going down. What happens in the future is anyone's guess. Maybe the JBTs of tomorrow will be from somewhere else.

Even if the US eventually signs whatever treaty is developed by the conference it won't affect anyone's right to buy a legal weapon from a legal dealer.

there is no such thing as ILLEGAL GUN TRADE in the US.

Well unless of course you no longer have your constitutional rights, but thats never been any real concern has it?
