If PARENTS want to tell their children that they should look up to athletes like Tiger, and NBA players, and NFL players like Michael Vick....that STARTS IN THE HOME, WITH THE PARENTS. Children should be looking up to the people in their family first, to be good people. Too often, these players fall from grace, so I would NEVER tell a child of mine to act like ANY athlete. So again, the ONLY people he owed an apology to was his wife, and his own kids.
Tiger Woods Foundation
The Tiger Woods Foundation was established in 1996 by Tiger Woods and his father, Earl Woods, to create and support community-based programs that improve the health, education, and welfare of all children in America. Currently, the foundation has established several programs and events such as the Tiger Woods Learning Center, Start Something (which was re-named Tiger's Action Plan on April 1, 2008), Tiger's Block Party, Chevron World Challenge, AT&T National, and Tiger Jam which all benefit and impact the lives of millions of children. The Target World Challenge, which was most recently changed to the Chevron World Challenge, has a generous purse of $5.75 million dollars. Tiger Woods, who hosts this non-PGA tournament, has won the event three out of the last four years and has gladly donated his winnings to his foundation.
On January 21, 2008 Tiger Woods announced the launch of his Fist Pump Challenge, an online contest designed to help young people identify and share their greatest achievements.
All he does is play golf.
