I probably came off as snatty last night re: the video, I apologize, I knew it was intended as a joke and it actually was funny. It was a long weekend, not the good kind, and I was tired and stressed and .....so anyway, mea culpa.

Besides, I cringe when anyone thinks I might be an ill-informed American flag t-shirt wearing bible thumping member of the GOP. *shudders*. Color me liberal please.

Well, that was mighty big of ya.

I didn't collar clip online or some other silly thing. When he got deployed, online was the basic means of communication that we had. To Me, it's not any different than when the other half was stationed in Korea. I didn't stop being his wife just because the powers that be stuck him on the other side of the planet. As far as I was concerned, it should work the same way for the person I've collared.

As to the original, heck, I've been there and I don't really feel that I'm the best person to answer your question. I would tend to think that the real life part, such as your traffic jam example, would have to be in there somewhere. Having to miss the physical part is enough gone without taking other things away as well. Maybe that's just Me.

Ok, then the answer to the OP's question is:

It's the same as any other relationship, BDSM or vanilla.
Both parties have to want to be in it.
Both parties have to be willing to communicate.
Both parties have to understand the limitations.
And both parties need to be willing to "show they care" in a way that satisfies the other.

Otherwise, one person is making a sandwich and figuring out what's on TV.
