"Boys are stupid- Throw rocks at them" is funny, exactly because it is harmless. Or rather, the targets are assumed to be in such positions of power and control, that the tag line just becomes a form of venting. I would compare this to Afro-centrism, which in its more silly incarnations, put forward theories about how black people are superior. I have noticed that as time went on, and we saw a black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Secretary of State, richest woman in America, and black President, Afro-centrism has nearly vanished, instead of growing. In other words, the more power real black people got, the less you heard these claims of superiority. Of course there are women in positions of power, and men who aren't. But for the most part, I wouldn't buy the notion that men are somehow oppressed. The claims that we are, seem like pitiful whining by those looking for excuses. I would wager that as women assume more roles of corporate power you will see less and less stuff about "boys are stupid".
