How do you feel about old fashioned slavery?  The kind of slavery that was true slavery in the world for thousands of years.  You are property and your only goal in life is to please your Master/Mistress.

There is no true legal slavery. You'll have to specify time period, location of the world and culture as the laws varied greatly. For that matter, I doubt most were interested in actually pleasing their owners beyond pleasing them enough to not be beaten, killed or sold into more unpleasent circumstances. Which isn't caring about the pleasure of the owner - it's caring about keeping your own hide safe.

Well...for many slaves their goal was to stay alive for yet another day.  Many never saw their owners.  Only very special personal slaves would get near the owner.  Many hoped to have enough to eat after a boring day of doing the same thing over and over again such as thinning crops, or cutting down weeds. or harvesting.  They hoped that they pleased the overseer enough to avoid a beating that would leave one sore and perhaps with an infection that might slow down your work, setting you up for yet another beating. 

True slavery was watching your mother, father, sister, brother, or child be sold away to someplace where you would never see your loved one again.  True slavery was also having your new baby removed from your care and sent to a nursemaid because you belonged in the fields, not caring for a child.    

On that note, I'm just too tired to think of more.

Yeah, this topic is depressing. True, old fashioned slavery is one of the worst crimes against humanity in the history of the world. Not a great thing to aspire to.

Like, for example the slavery during the Second World War in camps such as Auschwitz-Birkenau, Treblinka, Dachau and Majdanek?

I feel much the same as I do about modern slavery, that it's something to be ashamed of rather than romanticized.

And I also happen to think that someone who is seeking any sort of correlation between that sort of slavery and consensual slavery between consenting adults seriously needs their head examining.

Modern day slavery? It exists. It is called getting in debt. If you get a loan from the bank, you are basically enslaving yourself to debt with interest.

Very true, that being in monetary debt is like slavery in itself. In fact, there are many in the world today who, associate the current day, Illuminati with the Egyptians. And the concept is quite simple to see as well, and perhaps, it is the absolute truth.
Basically, it is a conspiracy theory, stating that the Egyptians, are cursed by God, for enslaving and mistreating Moses, and    the children of Israel .  And the Illuminati is thought by some to be ( see David Icke.com for details ) to be a very satanic,
group, of possubly "shape shifting", "reptilian", completely lost, evil beings.

I think it is disgusting how one group of humans felt that they were so superior to another group that they could treat them worse than any animal would treat one of their own kind.

Slavery without consent is for the cowardly and the fearful, because what do humans do with people/things they fear? Kill it or enslave it...

I cannot imagine him wanting someone here who hates him and who is closed off, sullen and secretive. There is very little room for love in the situation described by the op.

And slaves of that sort weren't focused on pleasing the owner but on escaping punishment and getting enough to eat and raise their families without worrying about having their husbands, wives, children sold away from them never to be seen again.

You need to read some history, not fiction.

OwnsBitches: Real slavery, either traditional or modern day is not romantic, cute,thrilling,  or any other nice word you can dream up. It's offensive to me, to the victims of it and to any civilized person. Might I suggest you learn what you are talking about before spewing idiocy. There are hundreds of thousands of us working very hard to end just what you are talking about. There are people risking their lives to go to Sudan, Mauratania and other places to get these people out of their very real shackles. I myself am still on a Kuwaiti " wanted list " if I ever venture to the Middle East.

Did you look at LadyAngelica's link, cash value for a modern day slave is $70, they are completely diposable and killing them once no longer useful or injured, is the norm. Easily replaced for a song.

OP, let's be honest...this is just a continuation of your profile which, truth be told, appears to be the stuff of fantasies.  Yes, slavery (is this what you mean?) exists in the world...yes, you'll find people making claims about this being their desire, how they wish to be kept in chains 24/7 after being sold to their new owner who will offer them no love or care beyond basic human needs in what they see as "old fashioned slavery"....yes, there are people who advertise for this type of slavery ...yes, I'm waiting to hear for anyone involved in this type of servitude that can offer anything positive and realistic.  Keep in mind, by "old fashioned slavery" are we to assume ( I really hate to assume) you mean non-consensual?  If that's the case....you need to remember, human trafficking is illegal. 

In the end, though, I'm not holding my breath for a response....your profile does say you don't answer questions.

Slavery or being killed by invading army ?
Life or death ?

This is what i think of. What was the motivation of the slavers ? Can you wholey fault someone if they are faced with a situation where they must take either action A or B, and they believe that B is more humane, the lesser evil ?

Of course, slavery has been used as humiliation and punishment over the years as well. Then remember also, that in the Roman Empire, people could enter into slavery willingly to atone for civil debts...

Slavery is a part of human history, as are war and medicene. i cannot feel it has been a high point, nor has it been the furthest low point on the graph .

Thanks for the replies.  I expected to be attacked.  Pulling out Gloria Steinem really made me smile.  Its interesting that my profile got a lot of hits and emails offering service.  So, are those who offer to serve also to be attacked?

How did you get attacked???

You asked for OPINIONS.......you got them. Is it because none of those opinions matched yours that you feel you were, in some way, attacked? If so, are you really so insecure that a group of strangers on the internet disagreeing with you, makes you feel attacked?

If so, I have the perfect solution to your problem..........turn off your computer.

I find anyone that believes that "old fashioned slavery" is romantic and a loving relationship between Master and slave to be completely living in a fantasy world. "Old fashioned slavery" equals a history of people taken from their homes, children, spouses, and families by strangers to work for free, be beaten, raped, humiliated, degraded, and often times killed ... In My opinion, that certainly isn't something that sane people aspire to.

(On a side note, My grandmother was born to a "house slave", My great-grandmother (my great-grandfather was the slave owner)... she never recounted her young childhood, with warm fuzziness... it was filled with watching her mother working as a servant for her father.)

And an additional note, your profile is ludicrous... I am sure sub/slaves will just run to a Master they have never seen or spoken to, to endure whatever you decide to do with them... minus your hard limits. Pleeeessseeee... Can you say... FANTASY.
