They are also socially inept. I read a recent statistic that only two percent of the conservatives on CM have touched a woman in the last eighteen months, fifty percent of those reported that the woman they touched was a Pro Domme.

I was incredibly surprised....I thought the percentages would have been much lower.

Is the study measuring intelligence or the ability or adapt combined with the attitude of an open and curious mind?  Do homo sapiens need to keep evolving on a mental level or have we already gone far enough?  What is the best methodology for the survival of the individual, the group and the species?  [sm=book.gif]

I read a study that said that their data was incorrect, and that even though they at first thought conservative penises were small, when they crunched the data they found that their penises were actually tiny, maybe even minuscule, but we will have to wait for the new report

The study isn't measuring intellience. It found a statistically significantly correlation that "more intelligent people are more likely to recognize and understand such novel entities and situations than less intelligent people, and some of these entities and situations are preferences, values, and lifestyles".

I dated a conservative... we got to know each other over several months, and I was able to ignore most of the drivel that came out of his mouth because he was very good looking, a jarhead actually. Boy, I would love for this to be true, that political liberals are wiser, smarter, and have bigger cocks and more tingly clits than the Teabaggers.

But even if the study is absolutely true- I don't think it follows that those who are "more likely to recognize and understand such novel entities and situations" correlate to the political divisions we have in America.

The reason is that novel theories and new proposals for society have come at various times, from both conservatives and liberals.
When I came of age in the late 70's, I saw the liberals as the hidebound traditionalists, clinging to the New Deal and unable to conceive of a new framework of governance.
Likewise, the conservatives were the ones with new novel ideas, pushing for a new relationship between the people and government.

But these relationships evolve and fluctuate over time; I have stated a couple of times here that the modern conservative movement is actually a radically liberal party, a reckless reshaping of the traditional guidelines and boundaries that have been precedent for generations; painting them as traditionalists is simply incorrect. The Founders would be astonished and appalled at the legal theories of John Yoo, for example. Adam Smith would be horrified to see what is being done in his name.

Your link is only the abstract; I'm not paying to read it nor taking time to search for it.

Here's my gut reaction, though--their primary hypothesis, essentially that curious minds are more intelligent, is hardly startling. To equate that as the abstract does to liberalism and atheism is quite a jump, however, and apparently entirely an assumption. At least the abstract doesn't indicate anything making that link (nor does the article about the study).

So I'm going with unsupported until shown differently.

Incidentally, it also equates monogamy with higher intelligence. Also apparently unsupported and a hell of a blanket cultural bias overlooked there. This would make Muslims and Mormans less intelligent along with the poly folks and the serial monogamists.

Methodology. I see a lot of assumptions and conclusions drawn over and above the data.
