Status: offline 		Similarly the issue is here posed as a trick question - "Does the Dom serve the submissive". If it were cast as, "Does the submissive receive a service from the Dominant?" - there would be not much in dispute.

Yeah, getting too hung up on semantics seems all too common. And that is really what this thread is all about. How we each define the OP's question.

To muddy waters further, if a Master chooses to serve a slave, is he being submissive because he is serving, or is he dominant because he has chosen the action. Seems to me, as long as the Master is doing the choosing, he is not being servile, even if he is serving his slave.

The captain is responsible for everything that happens, but is not responsible to the crew - only the nation and his mission. Hence the ability to order the crew do things that might get them killed; otherwise - he would not do so.

In the days of whaling captains definately served their crew. If they didn't ensure they made enough money off the whale blubber to serve the needs of their crew, they didn't have a crew for the next trip. Then and now, when a ship is in trouble the captain must do what is best for the crew, not himself.

I agree. It's a power exchange, each are there for the other. Each cannot surivive without the other, no sub, no dom.

Dom's who don't meet your needs are clearly just horny men who have nothing to offer you. move on.

Status: offline 		Does it matter?  I've been browsing these forums for some two years now, and threads like this happen all the time.  Who is really in charge, who has the power, who serves who, is the sub topping, is the top bottoming.... who cares?

If its a caring reciprical relationship in which both parties are getting their needs met, who cares who "serves" who?

Greetings Draxxe,

I am a Free man of Gor and so will only help the female if she is sick, with some cleaning and cooking, for I hate a place being dirty.  Apart from that she would have to be near death's bed to get me to help her with a few things, I would just kick her out of bed and to do her chores.

Seriously, if I were miserable and broken and depressed, he wouldn't get much out of me, though.
