There is only one way out of this swamp...and that is what the founders knew 200 years ago....the federal government has to be limited in power and authority...and the power AND the money stays in the serveral states.....if you don't like a state's policy, you can move to one you do like.....its that simple....the founders feared an all powerful federal government and made that abundantly known in the federalist papers...it is now the time to reverse the situation and perhaps refind freedom again...if not we are in for a very dark and dangerous future....

This bozo added a few dollars to the deficit Bush already tripled.

Try to stay near the facts at least.

FR...
Cucky:
You rail on extensively against socialist and communist. Those words are tossed about quite freely and sometimes the meanings get blured.
Perhaps, for the sake of this discussion, you might furnish us with your definition of communist and socialist?

Would you please show us just where in the Federalist Papers it says that.

Actually, I agree that one might reasonably expect the duration of jobless benefits to be tied to length of time worked but I don't think it works that way. One might also reasonably expect refusal to work to lead to termination/reduction of benefits but I don't think it works that way either.

Except that, I seem to recall that the Constitution replaced the Articles of Confederation precisely because the latter didn't give the federal government enough power.

The big motivator was Shay's Rebellion, which occurred over, get this, predatory banking policies and foreclosure upon poor Western Massachusetts farmers.

The holy federalists were afraid precisely of a some form of a true democracy coming into fruition.

bud, you need to stick your periscope up every now and then...the WHOLE NATION IS NOT ONLY MAD...BUT FURIOUS AT OBAMA!... get it?...and in November you are going to find out the results of that anger....keep spreading the spin, and watch the dems be thrown the hell out of town,...and it going to be a very very very very very very loooooooonnnnngggg time before a democrat is entrusted with any responsiblility beyond a dog catcher in public life.....

I don't know.  I'm part of the nation and I'm not mad or furious.  While I'm not completely happy with his performance I'm not really disappointed either.

In fact, other than watching the teabaggers on the television I haven't run into the anger you describe.

Though I do remember hearing the same predictions about how Sarah Palin was going to sweep McCain into office in a lopsided victory.

Can you imagine how much better things might be were it not for the 17th Amendment?

Such a typical attitude hammer those who are blameless for the current crisis. Let the ones who messed it up for us all walk free of their responsibility. What a shitty world it is

Perhaps you might enlighten us with a few excerpts from the "Federalist Papers" that you think might substantiate your position.
If you don't happen to have a copy handy please avail yourself of this link.

As for the Constitution it pretty clearly says that the feds can make laws. It also says that they can tax us. Now if that is not central control in bold letters then what pray tell is?

Which will probably be my last comment to you, on the theory that you are a stray cat and that if I dont feed you you'll go away.
