I am of mixed personal preferences on this case. I am a strong 2nd Amendment supporter, but I also am a strong advocate of States' Rights; and would heartily support repeal of the 14th Amendment.
If Mr McDonald wants to own handguns, let him move to WV or campaign to change the laws of Illinois.
Or: eliminate all state laws more onerous than the federal.
Either one is fine with me.

But SCOTUS will, imo, strike down the ban.

For the poster who wanted to expand the law of comity to include acceptance of all CCWs by all states: God, can't you just imagine some huge sporting event or convention in DC, NYC, Chicago or San Franfuxco that drew large numbers of men fromTexas, Florida, Wyoming, and WV? A good time could be had by all......

they either have jurisdiction or not and people who are self governed they do not have jurisdiction.

Thats the problem that people are having now with jurisdiction entrapment where they are switching jurisdictions as they go along to snare you which is next to impossible for the average person to avoid when you are standing in front of the adminitrator.

Firstly there is only one reason that any person citizen or not should ever go in front of any of these so called judges and that is to enter a complaint against them as the plaintiff, and that is even in a traffic ticket.

Somehow between the senate meetings creating the courts and state codes that little section was forgotten. (in all the states)

Imagine that.

I'm starting to think a number of these threads belong in Polls and Random Stupidity.

They certainly aren't discussions of Politics or Religion.

yeh when you start espousing your monarchial version of the constitutional principles in the republic "your posts" should be deferred to random stupidity where they belong.

I told you how many times now that you really need to spend a few short afternoons studying law so you can at least get a clue because law has little to do with your opinions.

You might follow your own advice.

Law arises from the opinion of the people within the constitutional framework.

Even common law has its origins in the opinions of the people as to what is right and what is wrong according to their cultural understanding of the world.

Legislation alike is a formulation resulting from opinions, in that the legislators are endorsed and instructed through the democratic process to enact legislation towards the fulfilment of policy aims advertised during the run up to polling, which a majority feel in their opinion are necessary or advantageous.

Legislation has to be regularly amended as time goes on to reflect changing circumstances in the wider environment and according to the opinion of the people which also changes over time as society evolves. Sometimes legislation is repealed entirely because of these factors.

No controlling hand, no conspiracy - just the chaotic tumult of millions of voices and actors each trying to do the best they can, and these expressed through nominated representatives.

When "Agree with my poorly supported delusions or you're a retard" is an argument by which you see the world and sort through other's positions, reality defined as you, and you unable to recognize the ironic fallacy, we can only go in circles.

All points for you have the same answer. All we can do is point out the same error in reply.

well if you wish to restate your positions I am all ears but when people get the constitution precisely backwards replacing law with feeling they rarely get it right upon restatement.

However be my guest.

Any post that RealOne makes should, by default, automatically go directly to "Random Stupidity." There could just be a sticky thread, "RealOne's Parallel Universe," and every time he hits the "submit" button his post just posts to that thread. Have you ever seen him say a single thing that wasn't sheer lunacy? Seriously - I haven't. Every single post is straight from the Twilight Zone.

I'd be hard pressed even to call some of them "discussions."
