Being open to public is not the same as being public. Starbucks is a private property and they can put a sign "no guns allowed", which would mean that they can kick you out for carrying a weapon and you also will be trespassing if you carry.

They can also put up a sign that says
"we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone"
It doesn't mean shit. The 14th. ammendment says so.
I guess it might take a court case to see if you are right or not.

No they shouldn't take a side.

They're a business not a political organization

They should stick with selling their coffee and leave the political agendas to politicians.

Businesses all over America are being run out of business by politicians.

I think starbucks should stick to it's guns and serve coffee to everybody but always first come / first served, with bullets if necessary.

So: Jesus told his disciples to sell their shirts to buy swords. I didn't know that, I'd always looked up to him as a bastion of peace and love. Oh well, it kinda reinforces my views of religion as a source of so many of the world's evils. So the Romans were right, he was planning a Zionist terrorist insurgency.

However, an injunction to one group of people whose leader was about to be arrested by an occupying army doesn't really provide a moral justification for all citizens to carry lethal weapons, concealed or overt.

I'm so happy I live in the UK, where all this is not an issue. Citizens are not allowed to own handguns at all, nobody can carry concealed weapons and rifles and shotguns have to be transported in secure cases. Police officers patrol the streets without firearms. Sure, a few criminals carry illegal weapons, and specially trained armed police officers are on call to deal with such incidents. But overall, gun crime is a tiny fraction of what is seen in the USA. Firearms accidents are rare. Accidental shootings by police officers are rare enough to make the national news. Is the US citizen's "right to bear arms" (It doesn't actually say guns) a price worth paying for the death and destruction it brings? (Last statistics I saw were about 14 gun related deaths per thousand in the USA and 0.5 in England, although both countries have probably gone up a bit since.

Actually, the coffee it self sucks.... they char the hell out of the beans.

Why would you go there anyway?
