Nah . . . I think Mr Kal was being at least a little tongue-in-cheek, LA.

This, paraphrased, is what I got today...

first mail

Hi

I like your profile

I want to get to know you
------------------------------------
If you've even looked at my profile, its about as far as I want in terms of an approach.  I look at it
for a bit.. not picture of course and really no profile from him to speak of.  Dominant
male profile... I decide to write back.

------------------------------------

Why?
------------------------------------

and I get:

I am sub now
let's talk on the phone
------------------------------------

so I just wrote back and said.. I appreciate your interest, but no thanks.

------------------------------------

Why do men think that will work?  I don't quite get it.  I also find the immediate "I am sub now" .. as if I should be interested in that to immediately pick up the phone... argh...

Why do "men" think that will work? "Men" don't. Some idiots do. Both male and female. There's no gender exclusivity on this one.

I certainly hope so. You know, you boys would make it much easier on me if you used your winkies ;-) appropriately.

Because it does.

Because if anyone sends any large amount of copy/paste mails, he is bound to get a response.

You wrote him back, didn't ya?

Why worry about someone or give attention (returning mail or posting here) to someone who thinks so little of you that he gives you two lines that are an obvious paste-job?

Drop it like a hot-potato and don't give it 4 seconds of your mindframe.

I'll agree with you on this one to a point. I agree that well-adjusted men don't do this.

And there are definitely mis-adjusted women out there too. The thing is, the mis-adjusted tend to flash a little boob and many well-adjusted men like that ;-)

The problem with the question is in the assumption that they actually DO think.  They don't.  They are so focused on the object between their legs that there just isn’t enough blood for the head on thier shoulders to actually function.

"twirls around aimlessness as saying this"! Hey,I have blood flow in head.

My having 2 profiles is a site error. The message board wouldn't accept my original name for some reason and kept logging me in as a guest.

The same happens to me about somehow getting signed in as Guest.

When I'm already signed in, in the mail area and see something interesting in the message boards being scrolled, and I click on it...wham, I'm here as Guest; and when I try to log in, it won't accept my name and password.  If I go back to my mail, click on Message Boards from the list, then all is okay.  Happened to me just a while ago AND earlier today, lol.
.....................

I can't really whine about trolling this time because I get very few now.  Not like some years back, when I felt I had to write back to be polite...and it took hours each day.  Others I talked with had the same problem at least for the first two months.

Fast reply

I wanted to say thanks for the responses.. and to those that pointed out this doesn't always conform to gender lines.. as in always men... I think you're right and I do apologize for only mentioning men.  I will say, that's my experience with men...

You're quite right, M4a.  Men are awful people.  They shouldn't be tolerated.

I find this really amusing. The first thing I find is the on most of the Doms profile is that most of the demands placed on the sub are so unatainable that why even bother writing them.  Good god, "Finacial servitude, have a job outside the realtionship, clean the house, cook me dinner, do my laudry, fix the car and blah blah blah and you may get rewarded in a month or two" get real. So you have to pick out what IS real. That just weeded out about 75%. Ok so now lets start with the other 25%. I like this one, "now accepting applications" so you write a nice letter, tell some what about your self and what you could possably offer. NO response, some consideration please, how about a no thanks, and this is were you need to improve. I can understand this with one liners or no profiles but when you make a good effort, hmmmmm. The next one, is the cut off. You find some that you start exchanging messages withn do this for a couple weeks, things are going seemingly well, then they stop messaging, no explainination. The next one is sneak tribute, again you message back and forth for a while things are getting along well, then "I will not talk with us less you send me cash and gifts". Tell me that to begin with.  So it is just not the male subs that do not put effort or honesty into this, there are several Doms (Female and Male) that can be arogant  also.
Yes I'am a sub, and I enjoy serving the feet of a lady. But I will not be taken advantage either. I still can think for myself, and have another life beyond this curse.
In reading this board, I still see there are several nice and realistic Doms out there. I have met some wonderful pros out there also. Remember it is a two way street, and we can not be one with out the other.

No, men aren't stupid and saying so is a cop-out.

People in general think things like this will work because they haven't realized that quality doesn't come easy.

I got an email from a man today that said "Read my profile"....that was it.  Why did he think that would work?  Probably because some twit actually did look and thought he was the cat's meow.

I invest time/effort/energy to get to know a person if they pique my interest...I expect the same because I'm worth it, just like they are.  Does that make me arrogant?  No, it means I have self respect and understand my value as a person, just as they should.

There's a lot to be said for having manners and making an effort....it runs both ways.

I have a little hypothesis, Carrie, that submales might go a little astray on that matter of 'respecting oneself as a person'.  They may well think 'I've got far enough to understand that this part of me that wants to be dominated is disgusting and unmanly, but it won't go away. I'll offer that part of me to a woman, begrudgingly, because I've no choice.'  At that stage of recognition and acceptance of their sub-nature, they simply won't be able to grasp the idea that being a submissive male is a desirable, and respectable, thing for some women.  They'll still feel themselves to be basically ugly - and they'll act ugly as a result.

Mind you, the above is a kind view of it all.  When Dommes get one-liners from men, these could just as easily come from men who take the scatter-bomb approach - sending the same one-liner to hundreds of dommes.  I've no real idea of what it's like being a domme - natch.  I can only speak of what it's like to be a submale - as I am now, and as I once was.

Thank you, Peon, sharing your very sensible hypothesis.  In that light, it does make sense.

Funny thing, I've seen this in attitude in a couple of dominant men I've met.  They're shamed by their desires and decide to take that shame out on the women who are attracted to them.  I had one man tell me he could never really care for a woman who would submit to a freak like him.

I'm sure this could have something to do with the way men sometimes act here....anywhere actually.
