Well I'll give you this realone....simply by dint of your weirdness you have become a must read,so I stopped in and I clicked on your link and listened to your fellow nutcase throw around words like "constitutional authority" and "demand"...he seemed to like "demand" an awful lot...yet every time I heard him spit it out I was struck by the fact that not only doesn't the census bureau "demand" anything...but they have absolutely  no power to compel anyone to adhere to their demands...should they,in some unlikely event actually start demanding information.
So once again,given that your post is based on complete and utter bullshit ,what are we to do with you?...I of course can only answer for myself...but speaking for myself allow me to assure you that you are permanently and irrevocably banished to the purgatory of irrelevance and juvenile amusement...enjoy your stay!

Actually you can be fined for not partcipating in the census. Hardly ever happens, only to people who publically advocate to others to not partcipate (just like with the income tax, most of them actually pay thier taxes, while convincing the reals and Pahunks, they don't have to). But techincally it is a crime to refuse to partcipate.

I think it's very important that people participate in this because people like me use this data to do research. Furthermore, I've applied to be a census taker, the census takers are just regular people that live in your community, it's a temporary job. I'd hardly call a census taker a "governmental agent".

The origional laws when the US Census was formed include that the census would not be opened (for reading categories) by LAW for 82 years. But, it has been proven over and over that it is used for nefarious reasons and they have been caught doing so, again and again. http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=2744

lately it could be used for TSA reasons (as the past) or likely info sold to corporations.

Either way, my best guess is since it is forced (by law) that you fill out the long form, except for the manditory 'how many occupants' section (which is the ONLY section that is legally/reasonable of value within the Census and constitution) I'd make up the rest to throw em off track lol. I mean really, are they going to arrest you for telling them you don't use cough syrup when you actually do?..or test your blood to see if you really are a smoker or not?

I mean, the day they start doing that door to door, the least of your problems will be what you penned in on the census. You may as well jump into the truck or train because you won't even be allowed a pen LOL

I got my form today and will mail it back tomorrow. It asked for my name, birth date and number of people who live here, nothing else. I am also on a list to be called for a position as a census taker but haven't been called yet.

That information is free as aggregated data on the internet. You can get it at American Fact Finder. It's great for getting numbers in order to do research. As much as I hate the Corporation, this is one of those things that can't be attributed to them. They're most likely collecting this data from this same resource. I know I certainly don't agree with their methods of collecting data in order to identify target markets, but it's pretty easy and anybody could do it.

Never the less, it doesn't make the Census any less important. It's still important to people that do research on disease and socio-economic factors and how to stop disease or prevent in certain areas as well as a plethora of other social ills. This is just for geography, but it's very important.
