All I want to say is I don't trust anybody these days and I think it's wrong the Catholic Church doesn't allow priests to marry to women. I could understand not allowing priests to marry men but I don't understand and don't agree with not allowing a male priest to marry a woman. Most heterosexual men think it's unreasonable not to marry and it results in a higher percentage of homosexual men joining the priesthood. The idea that you get married to God is silly in my view.

A series of allegations in Germany and Holland have plunged the Catholic Church into a renewed crisis over how it has dealt with child abuse after it emerged that the Pope's brother ran a renowned choir at the centre of some of the latest claims.

"In many schools there was a wall of silence allowing for abuse and violence," said Ms Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, a prominent critic of the church. She pointed to a Vatican directive from 2001 which required that even the most damaging allegations should be first investigated internally and then reported to the authorities. A church spokesman called her criticisms "absurd".

Don't like Catholicism? Don't be one. Problem solved. Others can be Catholic and Brain doesn't have to be one.

Gee, that was easy. Now to show Brain the "off" button that gets rid of Limbaugh and Beck permanently, while not fucking with others that want to listen to folks Brain doesn't like.

So, to summarize (I'll speak slowly):

1) Don't be Catholic. It's optional.

Hey pahunkboy, feel like subscribing to my spiritual air service? It's just terrible that people are breathing in unholy air, they just do not understand how their spirit is being effected by demonic pollutants. No...no it isn't. That doesn't in anyway stop the Catholic Church from abusing children. The Catholic Church has made it very clear that they won't solve this issue on their own, so it's up to each and every one of us to make it clear to the Catholic Church that their continued aiding and abetting of pedophiles in our communities is unacceptable.

I agree (with the Catholic Church part, not the "don't trust anybody" part)… with the understanding that that is just my opinion on the matter. I leave it to the Catholic Church to make their own rules regarding such.

That sounds reasonable but I don’t know if it is true or not. What concerns me with the above statement is that it seems to suggest a connection between homosexuality and pedophilia. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt but some clarification would be nice.

Truth is I don’t know if the Catholic Priesthood has a higher percentage of pedophiles than the male population in general. Common sense says that they will get more media attention from a combination of the gross hypocrisy involved (we expect a higher moral standard from a Priest) as well as good old fashioned anti-Catholicism.

The United States (and I presume the Western world in general) has laws against covering up a crime. Covering up pedophilia should certainly fall under that. It seems to me if we began arresting and charging not just the Priests who commit this horrible crime but those who know about it and do not alert the proper authorities, that the Vatican might change its stance to a more proactive one in combating this stain upon it’s church.

I think that every form of religion should be shunned and run out of town. Religion has been given priority over the law for way too long.
It is time to put a stop to church sanctioned child abuse. Why should wee trust in God if God can't hear wee screams???
The Muslims and the Jews and more than 70 % of American male babies have their genitals mutilated without anesthetic.
Religion is slavery of children world wide! Ur God does not recognize the HUMAN RIGHTS of any body at any age.
