I would agree with your post entirely.  There is no link that I know of between homosexuals and pedophilia and to imply such is an anti-gay statement as well.  Another example of the OP's hypocrisy since he claims to be supportive of the LGBT community.

I don't hear anyone yelling at the NEA (National Educators Association) every time a teacher has sex with a student.  I don't even see anyone bringing big lawsuits against the school districts.  Yet there are plenty of headlines regarding these abuses.

Follow the money.... The Roman Church has a lot of money.  School districts do not.

It's not a matter of religion.  There are evil people who will abuse their positions to perpetrate these horrible crimes in all areas of our society.  The important thing is to arrest those who cover up these crimes, prosecute the criminals to the full extent of the law and be dilligent to protect our children.

I don't think that's the difference. Schools, report allegations of sexual abuse whereas the Catholic Church has a don't tell or you go to hell policy for victims of sexual abuse. That Papal decree is the smoking gun that's cost them so much. But lying to parents to convince them not to go to the police, hiding evidence and the pedo-shuffle probably don't help either.
