Unbelievable. She has bigger balls than any man in Washington , past or present.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may try to pass the controversial health care reform bill without making members vote on it.

Is that a bad thing?

At least she is trying to get something done in the face of Republican obstructionism that has no real purpose except to pander to their base.

Queen?

The House members can vote her out anytime they want.

Until they do, we'll have to presume a majority likes her where she is.

This is the most ridiculous and perhaps most pathetic talking point of all time.

I am SO dissappointed with the president and how quickly he gave into the GOP.
The Dems have a majority in both houses - they should be able to pass anything they want. But they just can't work together. The Republicans seem to operate on a "we're all greedy together" basis whereas the Dems seem to be more "I am greedy for myself". And in the end, neither party has anything but the interests of their financial backers. Absolutely disgusting.

This piece of legislation that the Dems will push thru' - yes, it will pass - is crap. There are no real teeth in it to hold health insurance companies accountable for anything. Oh sure, there's the every-popular "can't be denied for a pre-existing condition" bit, but the penalty is a whopping $100 per day. If your insurance company denies you for a year, that's a $36,500 fine. Big deal. The procedure you were denied probably would have cost 3 times that and you'll be dead long before the 3rd year. Win-win for the insurance company!

But it will be such a big win for the country! Everyone on both sides of the aisle will be able to say We Did IT! We Fixed Health Care!
Bull.

We have to make more room for the Brain Rain. I'm done with the P&R forum. This is bullshit.

Incredible.

I can see no reason other than political disagreement that this thread was moved.

I'd respectfully request some explanation of the reasoning.

Yannow, that technique's been used since the '30s.

Oh yeah, Brain's had stuff land over here, along with pahunk, so it's not exactly a unique situation.

I wasn't online earlier, and I don't know why this thread was initially moved.  I'm here now because a user filed a report ticket, requesting it be moved back to Politics.  For future reference, you'll get the attention of a mod faster by clicking report than just by talking about a problem on a thread.  I agree it looks like a political topic and political discussion at this point, so I'll move it back.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you very much, credibility restored!

Nancy Pelosi said we have to pass the bill so we can see what is in it. What a twit.

Ya know. . .I do not recall this being part of "How a Bill Becomes a Law," as I learned it from Schoolhouse Rock.
