I'm willing to bet that Popeyes ancestors came to this country legally.
Try and keep up servant,I know its hard for you,but do try.....it's my hypothetical and if the borders are closed than anyone ...and I mean anyone who came in after my hypothetical closing of the borders is hypothetically speaking here illegally and therefor subject to deportion.

Mike, so it's "ok" to take advantage of another person or country?

Mike; "fuckinnn surr iss popeye, now I'm goonna tak vantag of tis botl of Jamishons afta I take a pish!"
Taking "advantage" was simply a preferable way to express what you called "usurp"...as long as you are not breaking our laws when here...then you are by definition abiding by our laws.....right Popeys(I mean you were after all in Law Enforcement)

thornhappy -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 6:54:11 PM)

Perhaps they are doing it via the US embassy in second life.

Fuck that popeye.....I'm a professional drunk...I haven't suffered from a hangover since my amateur days in my 20's......after all practice does indeed make perfect.
But once again you refuse to address the post and instead address the poster....what are you so afraid of?

domiguy -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 7:08:52 PM)

I bet the Turkish babies have done more for this Country since their birth than all of the popeyes since they arrived on the Mayflower.

Whether you call it taking advantage of, or usurp, or even just "finding a loophole", it is a violation of the spirit of the law while staying just within the black letter of the law.

The 14th was about civil liberties of and for recently freed slaves. Then as BRAIN pointed out, several other cases resulted in judicial interpretations that began stretching it to the point that now it is being used as a back door immigration tactic.

Letter of the law maybe, but not the spirit intended.

thornhappy -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 7:25:17 PM)

Hope you're up for a constitutional amendment.

I have problems with any poster who while admitting that something is within the letter of the law...refers to it as "violating" that same law.Seems to me this poster must have some sort of problem with the english language...could this poster be a *gasp* illegal perhaps trying to divert attention by acting like a citizen?

No, though that is probably what it would take.
A few Supreme Court holdings that clarify current immigration and travel trends and balance that against the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act would do the trick, or at least making changes to the 1965 Act.

Smutmonger -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 7:36:03 PM)

This needs to be made illegal without the parents being citizens. And retroactive as well. Just another way to attempt to take advantage of the American people.

slvemike4u -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 7:39:46 PM)

How?.....When did immigrants stop being the strength of this country?Which one of you has family indigenous to this land?

Smutmonger -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 7:54:17 PM)

No one at all is indigenous to here if the race began in Africa.

I just don't see the point of having a kid born here being automatically a citizen. If they want to be able to stay-the parents need to go through channels-the same as anyone else.

juliaoceania -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 8:05:43 PM)

Somehow I am am unconcerned....

slvemike4u -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 8:08:16 PM)

As am I.....with all of our fucking problems....this doesn't even get a rise .Yet it sure does seem to rub one particular old guy the wrong way....lol,which makes it cool on my book...lol

intenze -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 8:29:50 PM)

anchor babies are a bunch of commie pukes![:'(]

slvemike4u -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 8:32:11 PM)

All of them...couldn't some of them perhaps grow up in cucky land and be indoctrinated with his bullshit?
Is there any proof this couldn't happen?

BoiJen -> RE: Having U.S. "anchor babies" is a business! (3/17/2010 8:36:21 PM)

It isn't the idea that these people are going to get something they don't deserve...it's the idea that we have immigration laws for a reason and now people are having babies to circumvent those laws. See the problem with it?
