Sanguinarian -> RE: Why do we get all uppity about Weight based Threads? (3/23/2010 5:45:17 PM)

I hate to say it but ... No, actually, I don't hate to say it. Willpower is not the issue. Fat is not the issue, Carbs are not the issue, in fact, none of these statistics and charts and doctors and diet plans and all of that shit is the issue. People are the issue, plain and simple. Mind your own fucking business. If you like overweight people, feel free to eat a brisket out of their navel. If you don't like overweight people, don't fucking look at them! Same goes for skinny people, but use a salad instead maybe? Now that the rant is done, here: Not everyone can, due to physical health, disability or other situations similar, can just cut carbs and exercise more. Diabetics, for example. People with certain kinds of anemia. They can try all they want and will fail because of chemistry. And unless you are a nuclear chemist, you are screwed. Kudos to the people who can use these methods. But there is also this-- Gaining and then losing and then gaining and then losing weight is more unhealthy than simply maintaining weight. I am not skinny. But the only things wrong with me are blood disorders which cannot be corrected by weight changes, and old injuries that cause me pain. I am not unhealthy, for being overweight. I am not diabetic, I have no heart problems or high blood pressure. Yet I have seen skinny people with diabetes, congenital heart failure and such high blood pressure they have to take six different medications for it. ( My father in law is the example I am using) So skinny ain't healthier in all cases. It is just different.
