Sir said he would have such a mark altered. Not removed, not covered up. Altered means changed or added to, which doesn't so much bury the past as add the present to it. The reason for this is that my latest tattoo is the symbol of his ownership of me in much the same way others use collars or wedding rings as symbols of their committed bond. Were I have to have such a symbol with a past owner (which I don't, but we're speaking in hypotheticals here), it would be similar to my wandering around wearing an ex's wedding ring, or another master's collar. In our dynamic, Halcyone the slave wears one mark of ownership, that of Ceyx the owner. So he would be more than within his rights to add to or alter a past ownership mark to reflect my current status.

By this logic, then, should this relationship end for whatever reason, you would have his mark of ownership removed?

I'm just trying to understand here, because it makes no sense to me.

It is a little more difficult to remove a tattoo than it is to remove a wedding ring or a collar. I can't tuck it away in a drawer or a box, although it is all but hidden from me without some serious squirming and a mirror.  Were the relationship to end, the tattoo would remain as a reminder, a memory, of what we shared. However, if I were to enter another relationship as slave (and I wouldn't but we're still dealing in hypotheticals here ), I would understand if my new owner wanted to add his own twist to the mark of ownership on my body, thereby claiming me as his own. There is no erasing it or removing it. There is adding to it and marking the beginning of a new chapter of my history.

It's the intent and symbolism behind the tattoo that is at issue. I can only wear one mark of ownership. The tattoo on my back is that mark.  It is his mark and it is his right, as owner, to make any other's mark his mark as well, because I am his.

That last one is a painful sentence to make sense of, I know, and I apologize. I'm not sure what else I can say to describe how we view the concept of ownership marks.

Just so it's known, Sir quite enjoys the other tattoo that I have, the one I had inked long before I met him. It was something I had done for myself and he likes that, perhaps even more than he likes the way it looks (it could stand to be touched up!).

I will be as blatant as I should be, my sub is mine and her tattoo's reflect that she is. Her piercings also do the same, she is owned by me and that is it, if other people see her 'brands' then they also know she is mine. Her collar signifies something much deeper than can be said in any vanilla world relationship. Her world is my world and vice versa, she willingly gives to me all. So she is branded in my name, and a tattoo is a brand that will live with her forever.

My tattoos are a reflection of me and my personality. A Master or Dom that did not like them or strongly disapproved of them obviously would not be the right one for me.

I marked myself for my personal gratification. Being single I have that right *smiles*  Being marked or branded by a Master would require some discussion for sure but as long as it was not His name across my forehead I'm pretty sure I'd go for it. Only if I felt the relationship would last.

The two tatts I have at this time can be easily shown or easily hidden. The one on my chest took months of thought. I didn't want just anything permenantly on my chest *s*  I feel it relects my impish nature. It wasn't something hanging in the gallery at the tattoo shop either.

IMHO, you should be true to who you are, if someone doesn't like you for that, it's no lose to you but to them.

Personally I would not be one to have alot of peiricings but I don't judge others that do so.

I met My slave and admired the ink she had.....tastefully done and discreet. I will add to the art with My own tat as her Master once I collar her. I enjoy ink on another as long as it is well done. Piercings just like ink are fine as long as they are not overdone . What is there when I meet a potential sub or slave whether ink or piercing makes little difference....just as body size, shape and color mean little...it is her beauty as a slave or sub, the willingness to serve, obey and please that attracts Me above anything else.
(I am a bit of a sadist and the ink and piercings  are a tease....lol)

I think it's a matter of taste & preferences Myself, what I find repugnant another might find attractive...ie I hate eyebrow,  tongue, lips or cheek piercings, I would however enjoy My slave having a septum ring as well as other personal lower atonomical parts pierced...
I think the same way about tats, though I'd prefer that I'd be the only one to order My slave tatted, as long as her tats are tasteful I'd endure them... On the other hand I've seen tats that in the voice of Dr. Phil I'd have to ask "WHAT The Fuck were you thinking???"

Maybe this is why they call this kind of tattoo a tramp stamp perhaps?

I had a boy that was dismissed for his dangerous self abusing behavior that came to me with nipple and tongue rings, a prince albert (ring in the head) and a jacobs ladder (multiple piercings up the scrotem [sac] and his intention was to go all the way up the scrotem) as well as 6 tattoos...he was doing the piercings at home himself. It was interesting from the standpoint that all of his adjustments could easily be covered. Though just from personal experience I still don't see what all the fuss about piercings is. The freak factor is amusing but I'm not sure if the wearer was why there was no appeal or if piercings really don't add all the extra sensation people claim.

Depends on the Tatoo as well.
My Kitten told me one day that she was wanting to get the Tattoo of a Hero of her's name on her.
*shakes head* No way would i let that happen. No one's name goes on her but mine.
But something artistic is always nice.
and we are planning on getting a collar tattood on her. with a little ring peircing right where the ring on the collar would be :) (purely for astecitic purposes.)

CmotDribbler, I like the idea of what you are planning with the tattoo and the piercing! Very ingenious!

My tats and piercings are just that -Mine.  I like tats and piercings.  I'm not fond of genital peircings on a man, on a woman the hood and nipples are as far as i can stomach (i spose that makes me a hypocrite...blah)  A man with tats and piercings signal a type of strength to me and I like that.  It takes huge courage to allow another to put a needle to your flesh to create this beautiful/ personal /spiritual work of art.  I don't believe in marking a person to show ownership.  So many things can happen.  Then you're stuck.  A piece of jewlery or collar is how i "mark" my owned.
