Well! I , for one, am very impressed. I always thought "redneck" when i heard anteater. Obviously, i was very wrong- after all, that anteater is wearing a TIE!

"Anteater Poem" Ron Kinard (2003) they call me an aardvark but I'm more like a bear I have a long tail and am fuzzy with hair I have long, sharp claws I eat termites and ants I dont wear shoes and I do not wear pants my snout is long and I have a sticky tongue for tearing up ant beds and eating their young my ears are long I look like a rabbit sleeping all day, no it's not a bad habit I'll grow to six feet I stay to myself I am too big to put a shelf I am not what you call just an average pet I'm better off in the wild for this you can bet I'm not too aggressive I'll put up a fight if I am cornered alone, at night you probably won't see me unless its in a zoo I live in the jungle this much is true next time you see a termite or ant think about the aardvark but eat them, you can't I'll say good bye I must go to bed I scavenge at night keeping my family fed

Dear Anteater: i understand that the hop bonding ceremony is a private and sacred moment in an anteater's life. But after witnessing the beauty and the intimacy of one ceremony, i have to ask - will you share with us any of the secret vows? i can only hope to achieve the depth of such a bond myself in this lifetime.
