ORIGINAL: brainiacsub Don't you know that this has absolutely nothing to do with vacations, who took them and for how long, and whether or not they were working? This is like when a couple goes to see a marriage counselor and one complains that the other puts the toilet paper on the dispenser backwards. Do you think they are really fighting about toilet paper? No, there is something deeper going on and the toilet paper becomes a convenient outlet for their frustrations. It is no different with attitudes toward Obama. If one is predisposed to not like him for any reason, there is no shortage of toilet paper to bitch about. Obviously the TP goes over the top. Duh. So, what is your answer? Do you find Obama's presidential/management style dominant in nature? Or not so much? And, obviously, why or why not? He certainly has many characteristics that I look for in a dominant man, but as President I think my feelings are mixed. He is often too much of a politician and not enough of a leader, but I don't entirely blame him for that. He is a bit inexperienced operating at this level and it's only fair to expect that there would be some learning curve, but also the climate of Washington makes it nearly impossible for anyone but a masterful politician to thrive. I don't think the ability to compromise necessarily negates dominance, but any man that I am with should be able to define a path forward for us based on his convictions, and bring me along even if I disagree. Obama is in a tough position politically and no matter what he does there will be dissent from either the left or the right. As a man, I would like to see him be more decisive about his own convictions, but as President I understand the political realities of constant compromise.
